get out there and vote

I don't think he quite sees it that way. That's not to say he's not happy, but I think having lived in many countries over the years he has a more rounded opinion than most of us.

You may be arrogant to believe he's hit the jackpot, but I suspect he knows better.

I've been to 89 countries in the whole wide world and I still choose to live here and I'm a right arrogant ****.

Been to and lived in are two different things IMHO. I spent 4 months in Oz, couldn't say I lived there.

Turn out was 33% so I hear. Shockingly low, even if people were energised to vote for UKIP.

This is an interesting one:

BBC - Bit of an Embarrassing Mix Up

Ok, so we could laugh at these guys because, let's face it, this is funny. However, the main issue surely seems to have been missed. The newly elected councillor was supposedly "removed of his party status" and yet two UKIP officials are arguing about his future. One is saying that he will stay a UKIP councillor, the other is saying that nothing has been decided. Surely, if he is no-longer a member of the party, there is nothing to decide.

It doesn't really matter which one is correct because they should both be wrong. Either the party have distanced themselves from him or they haven't.

Farage is in Basildon now in the pub. Looks like the Castlemayne. As much as I like him, the serious stuff starts now and the hanging around pubs ploy won't keep working. I might have to get more involved locally with the purple people.

Farage says he'll stand in the GE in next year "south of the river". Seeing as (some) Essex man & woman have seemingly taken him to their breast, could he run in Basildon/Southend?

Labour is up 255 seats. Why is this seen as such a bad thing? (by Labour voters).

Because nearer 500 - 600 would be the norm for the party in opposition in the run up to a general election. In fact, i believe and i could be wrong but Miliband has made history by being the first party in opposition to have fewer councillors than the party in government after local elections or something like that.

Because a party in opposition in the run up... hang on...

Thanks.

Farage was on TV having a pint in The Hoy and Helmet.

He'd better not have been anywhere near the quiz machine because that ****er was getting ready to cough.

It's not a bad thing but it's not a good result with a year to go till general election either. As already pointed out, Labour should be well ahead in polls if they are going to win GE, they are barely a couple of points ahead the tories - and that's in the pro labour polls. No overall majority looking odds on again.

Here's a quotation from something recenty published:-

"Both the British right and the left claimed that the ordinary working class was on their side -but in reality, streets neighbourhoods and towns were often divided.Farage's message appealed to people who believed they were competing for limited jobs and housing with immigrants."

I wonder if anyone would disagree with that as a description of the Britain in 2014 and if so why?

Incidentally,I've changed one word from the original text.Perhaps someone could tell me what the original word was?

Did you change Molesley for Farage?

Well, you've obviously put your own 'style' of punctuation on it but I'm guessing the word you changed was either Farage or British?

Either way, intriguing...
