Films you've watched recently.

Tom Hanks in Here. The Grauniad didn't like it but Mrs T and I did .Ideal pre-Xmas entertainment I'd say (apart from some misguided attempts presumably aimed at seriousness ,IMO, ,which rather begs the question as to why it doesn't get a UK release until Jan.

It's a Wonderful Life, Gremlins and Die Hard (yep, I'm one of those people that loves Die Hard at Christmas).

I love The Nightmare Before Christmas, but despite Christmas being in the title, I'm conflicted over watching this at Halloween or Xmas, so it warms the bench.

I watched Lethal Weapon last week so that's the first one of the season for me. I had a peruse on Amazon Prime but nothing caught my eye and I'll be damned if I'm going to giving Bezos even more money to remove the ads so that makes me even less likely to stream something.

I've started picking up blu-rays again as having the physical copy of the original at the best quality is probably going to become more and more important as time goes by.

Watched four films on the flight over last night but only enjoyed two

Black Dog - two south London teenagers on a road trip north. Massively recommend watching this and stick with it through a couple of rough patches. No spoilers from me for this one.

Memory - very powerful film about dementia and dark family secrets. Again that's all I'm giving you.

I struggle to sleep long haul economy especially now that a 12-1/2 hour flight is extended to 14 due to rerouting away from Russia. The other two films did have me dozing off hence not covered here.

Mission Impossible 1, 2 and 3.

MI2 is just awful (lots of face changes). MI1 just about holds up. MI3 is OK (final third was terrible), saved by the brilliant Phillip Seymour Hoffman.

Have just received the DVD of 'The Good, the Bad & the Ugly', fantastic film imo. It's still occasionally on a TV channel, but isn't played until around 10pm. At just over 2 1/2 hrs long, i've fallen asleep before the climax!.
Now i can watch it at anytime i want to!.
No other actor would be as good at playing Clint Eastwood's character, in those spaghetti westerns. Lee Van Cleef is good as well. Enjoy the whole film T.
