An amazing film. The Crying Game (1992)
I finally watched The Shawshank Redemption over the weekend. Never seen it before, and thought I probably ought to as so many people list it in their top 3!
I understand why now!

Still on my list to see!Elvis. Really enjoyed it. It's quite long but sped past. Well worth seeing. Not sure how accurate but it's not a documentary.
I loved it.Saw To Leslie earlier .Thought it was a decen t watch.
I watched that and thought pretty much what you didCocaine Bear, a good laugh, even though not much of a story.
Yeah .Didn't know to much about it tbh. From the plot synopsis in el Periodico thought it was going to be a black film! Talking of which Till on Wed.I loved it.
What titles have you seen?Working through a couple of box set DVDs of Nettlefold and Beaconsfield studio British films of the 40s and 50s. Mostly crime/film noir B films, low budget and certainly no classics but full of interest as a social document of the times and also the appearances of so many familiar British character actors in small parts.
As grim as the plot is it is a fabulous film.Yeah .Didn't know to much about it tbh. From the plot synopsis in el Periodico thought it was going to be a black film! Talking of which Till on wed.
Like most people, the first Woodty Allen fim I saw was Take the money and Run .(Incidentally you won't find many people who've ever seen him live on stage).Tangled up in Blue..........You asked me a couple of questions a while back.
Woody Allen started his career at The Catskills (a great place for wonderful Jewish humour).
Woody's films are hit and miss.
Moving on to "The Fabelmans" it would have been great if it had been a rags to riches story (As per Alan Sugar).
Speilberg's films are also hit and miss "West Side Story" wasn't any good either.
Of course it lacked the fabulous Elmer Bernstein's music which contributed to the original film being a classic.
His remake had Spanish being spoken but no subtitles!
Oh by the way "All Quiet On The Western Front" has returned to some London cinemas.
Yes, these DVDs are issued by Renown, which is part of Talking Pictures. Have seen MEET MR CALLAGHAN, PARK PLAZA 605, THE DELAVINE AFFAIR and THE BLUE PARROT so far. All of them hugely enjoyable with loads of familiar faces. What titles have you seen?
