Films you've watched recently.

Tangled Mark Kermode in the Observer is often on the money

But at times it seems as if he has seen a different film to me!

Blank Panther: Wakanda Forever - dreadful! Too long, terrible storyline and just a real shame because the first one was excellent.
Agreed. I fell asleep and turned it off.
Waited til it came onto Disney+, which is rare for me and a Marvel film!

Agreed though. Had to watch it across 2 evenings. Was falling asleep first sitting and assumed we were close to the end - turned out we had an hour and a half left. Not a patch on the first one.

Can’t stand the bloke. Have never taken any notice of critics, a film is there to entertain not to be viewed like a piece of art. Think best I make up my own mind about a film rather pay heed to a critic.

Wife and I watch every Oscar nomination for best film, actors, support actors, and do most international films and docs over the last 17 years.
It's so we can smugly shout at the TV around 4.30am on Oscars night: 'wrong!!' or sometimes; 'right!'
Have five to go afore March 12; one is Wakanda Forever, and if @Ricey's comment holds merit, wasn't looking forward to it beforehand, even less so now!

Saw Steven Speilberg's The Fabelmans earlier and thought it was a wonderful film .While I apprecitea SS is no Orson Welles The only reason I can think of for any film buff not liking this film is some sort of latent anti-semitism.It's that good.Includes a wonderful cameo role by David Lynch as John Ford.

"Till"--It should have been in line for an Oscar---It went under the radar sadly.
Indeed. ( Sure I'll like it when it gets a release here) .As should have She said, which also seems to have rather slipped under the radar too.
