England vs Pakistan Test Series

A repeat of their previous dismal run-rate? Would love to see Pakistan bowled out by the end of today but I think that'd be asking for a bit much, but, with the current form of Pakistan, it's possible.

7 wickets in four hours? If our batting's anything to go on, very possible - they managed 5 wickets for 20 runs, probably about the same in minutes!

51-4. Very possible that they could be gone by the end of today.

53-5

57-6

57-7

Kamran Akmal dropped.

This has been one of the most entertaining series I've seen in a long long time - sod betting on it, God himself couldn't see what's coming next!

Never really got the follow on rules - d'you need to get at least halfway/three-quarters way to the oppo's total to avoid it? How many's the mark anyway?

ETA: There goes the 9th. They'll be lucky to see 80, and they won't see 6 o'clock while batting. Probably closer 5 30, maybe even 5 o'clock.

74-9.

I think you have to have a 200 + run lead to force them to follow, less and it's your choice.

74/10

Strauss to surely enforce the follow-on whilst they are still feeling skittled.

In test cricket the follow on can be enforced if the side batting second are 200 runs or more before the side who batted first. In this instance Pakistan would have to score 247 to make England bat again. Which in this case is somewhat academic as they've been bowled out for a pitiful 74.

Well that's not as clear as mud. And they're 74 a/o.

Pakistan following on after their new record lowest score against England. Presumably beating the score they posted in the first test.

247 to make England bat again. Chances of it happening? On this performance, remote.

England aren't duty bound to enforce the follow on.

247 is the minimum Pakistan had to make in their first innings to make England bat again.
Now in their second innings they have to score a minimum of 372 to make England bat again.

74 + 372 = 446

446 is what England scored.

Therefore England would need to score 1 to win to ensure their match aggregate is higher than that of Pakistan.

Simples!!

Ah. My maths was never that good (thank god no-one's mentioned Duckworth-Lewis yet!)

31 overs left in the day and Aggers asks on his twitter feed if Pakistan can see out the day. Bloody good question if you ask me.

Pakistan now 500/1 to win, from odds-on (unspecified) when Broad came to the crease yesterday.

We've beat them mentally now, all we have to do is put it on paper and send those stumps skittling back to the hutch. Playing 'till 7 tonight, right? 95 minutes, I can easily see us at least well into the tail by then.

Athers and Vaughn on next according to the former's twitter feed. Last time the pair commentated they saw 4 wickets fall. Same again lads, ta.

Good good, carry on and try to get as many out as possible today. Although, Pakistan seem to be more attacking in this second Innings and I can see them getting 150+
