I was going to use this ODI series to plug my article in September's Spin magazine, but I really don't care about it now.
To paraphase Capey: **** it.
Let's just call the whole series off.

Ooh - like the sound of this, YB. Has the mag come out yet and, if so, will you have it with you on Saturday?
Controversially, I may be at the game...
Matt
 Nice work YB. What is the article on? Is it your much awaited critique of why spin bowlers are not worth their place in a test side?
Basically Hussey and Dhoni are amazing.
1. Apparently Pakistan were all ready to call the tour off, but relented to pleading from Giles Clarke who was seemingly more concerned about the £12m the ECB stood to lose, than the integrity of the game.
2. I wonder what further revelations the NOTW have up their sleeve. My guess is that the only printed enough to establish their credibility in this scandal and there will be further stories, quite possibly following the money, to come this week. At a guess, these may possibly involving Kamran Akmal, who was named in the original story but no supporting evidence was provided.
A number of tabloids apparently have other allegations to roll with this weekend... The only thing that'll save Pakistan would be a complete England implosion tonight, which will result in the space reserved for more allegations being used by pictures of Capello's face superimposed on a variety of vegetables.
One I've seen is that some of the cash handed out by the NOTW has been found in the possession of Salman Butt, allegedly.
That's in The Sun today, I think... Supposedly found in his locker at Lords which, if true, would pretty much have him bang to rights and rubbish the Pakistan Board theory that the NOTW video was made after the no-balls.
The report I saw said the cash was found in his belongings (The Mail) but it's the same difference. Not only the POB but their High Commisioner who was on his high horse claiming a conspiracy.
I did find it ironic when I heard convicted drugs cheat Shane Warne saying if they are guilty they should be banned for life, I agree, but then I think drugs cheats should suffer a similar fate, even if they've only ingested what their mum suggested.

Warne's an authority on such matters.
Like Onion Bag Dave said, to talk about receiving illicit payments from bookmakers, you need to have received illicit payments from bookmakers.
#Oh Mark Waugh is an Aussie, he wears the Baggy Cap
And when he saw the Bookies' cash he said I'm having that
He shared it out with Warney, they went and had some beers
And when the ACB found out, they covered up for years....#
BTW, Mark Waugh, Salim Malik, Danish Kaneria.....
If I was Stuart Law I'd be expecting a visit from Ronnie Flanagan.
I definitely agree that drug cheats should be banned for life in any sport but, IMO, taking a diuretic to aid weight loss is ever so slightly different to taking a PED like nandrolone. I guess it's relative to the sport, because Warne's weight wouldn't have had an enormous impact on his ability to spin the ball and his weight loss ambitions probably had more to do with enhancing his ability to bed multiple blondes in hotel rooms, whereas a boxer taking a diuretic in order to make his weight division should have the book thrown at him.

Bit of an Essex connection there.
