England vs Pakistan Test Series

I dunno, my brother's the teacher, do I look like Einstien to you?

I would, however, argue that learning to bat beyond twenty balls would be a progressive move.

Maybe being a tad harsh I feel!

Cook got a snorter second ball off the day, had to play it. KP got himself out with a very loose drive so he deserves some criticism but I dont think there was too much the others could have done differently.

Interesting stat, England's first 6 batsmen have averaged 25 between them in this series so far. This includes Trott's current NO innings and also 11 from Jimmy Anderson as nightwatchman (where Morgan coming in at 7 made 5 runs).

Ouch.

Also, with focus on Cook and now Strauss and Pietersen, Collingwood has failed to pass 5 in 4 of his 6 innings. Still averaging more than Strauss though and our captain is the only member of our top 6 not to pass 50 (albeit the others have only done it once each).

Its just been that kind of series though, much more interesting than both teams scoring 500+ every innings.

Didn't Strauss get a 50 in the second innings of the second test?

Could this be Stuart Broad's renaissance as an all rounder candidate? 3 scores over 20 in 5 innings, we desperately need some spine in the 'upper' lower order and both he and Swann are capable but haven't delivered recently.

Well done Broad, 79 is his top score in Test Cricket. It's not his all-time top score though, for that he would need to get 92.

Great knock from Trott and Broad, saving the embarassment of a very low score. Broad has shown he can be a good all rounder so lets stick another bowler in against the Aussies. In fact I'd trust our bowlers batting more than the batsmen at the moment!

105.6 Saeed Ajmal to Broad, 1 run, 56.3 mph, this time Broad strokes a single to become the highest ever scorer for England at No. 9, going past Gubby Allen
Congrats posh boy!!
