Again, this is getting ridiculous. Highly likely he does know his best 11. Highly likely he does know his best formation. Highly likely he does and always has had a plan B. The question is only whether or not those three things are going to be good enough for the rest of the season. Can he bring in personnel to make an improvement? There has been plenty of evidence to show that he can or could, just as he has before. It always amazed me how he got us promoted despite his lack of man-management, inability to bring in the right players, inability to choose the right formation, clueless nature, failure to make subs at the right time, loss of the dressing room, blahdy blah, etc!

Personally, I do think we need a fresh impetus as we seem to be in a bit of trouble but I'm not about to start re-writing history about one of the most successful managers we've had at SUFC.

You spoil all the fun

I never thought he was one of "Us"..He just fitted a bill of RM's picture. As usual RM promised him the earth with dreams of the new stadium etc...In fairness RM has backed him to the hilt these past few seasons with money for old timers. I have always felt he was Rm's Doppelganger..RM loves to see himself in the mirror.

We are facing the drop once more and whatever bollocks PB spins, talks about repeatedly or blames, the buck stops with him..

Time for a change and a manager who bleeds SUFC like we the fans do.

Never ceases to amaze me how some supporters assume players and management have/ should have the same emotional pull to their employers as we have to our club. It is a job that professionally one would expect they would want to do as well as they could but whether it's Phil Brown, Ryan Leonard, Coutinho or Jurgen Klopp you are kidding yourself if you think that hiring a die-hard fan/supporter as a manager or player is going to better guarantee you success.

Give me an example of a player or manager in the modern era who 'bleeds' for the club they are currently working for, in doing so is more successful than their peers and wouldn't walk if a better career opportunity came along?

You won't find one so why hold it against PB as if he is some kind of anomaly. It is the rule rather that exception.

If I said Black was Black etc, you would disagree with me. Maybe instead of just posting silly things, we would like your opinion of this situation we find ourselves in.

I don't agree with a lot what you say and I'm not that keen on your language either particularly on Facebook. However, to answer your question I am well aware that many want Brown out but the way this has come across on social media has not been very edifying. The personal abuse has been shocking, that said I think it's time for a change.

Chris Wilder at Sheff Utd probably fits that bill.

General point taken though.

I nearly always advocate to give a manager more time, and one of the few (possibly only) things I like about Ron Martin is that he isn't trigger happy when it comes to managers, but in this case I think it's time for a change. The pressure has been on Brown since last season from a considerable portion of our fanbase, and our current form is terrible - it's difficult for an exile like me to judge the player's morale/mindset from abroad so I have to rely on the Zone for that. Given the fact it's January and getting a new man in would give him some time to make some changes it does seem a good time for that change. Knowing Ron doesn't like to sack a manager until he has a replacement lined up means it wouldn't surprise me to see El Tango in charge for another game (or even two), he may have already decided to sack PB. It does feel as if we gave gone stale and need a breath of fresh air, so if Phil goes it will be with a sigh of relief from me and a thank you for a great day at Wembley.

Lionel Messi?

This wouldbe a complete waste of time, he is part of the management team, if Brown goes they should all go, complete clear out.

Theirs only one Adam Barrett!!!!

Didn't happen when Sturrock was sacked though and Cocko was part of Sturrocks staff. Cocko and Brown don't get on, Cocko doesn't agree with a lot of Browns decisions

It won't really though, will it?

He can do as he likes... there's no one to sack him!

True, by 'on your head be it' I meant I hope he's prepared to lose the revenue when we go back to League 2. With the likes of Ferdinand and Kightly on long contracts it would be a disaster financially. Of course, bringing a new manager in is no guarantee we'll turn our form around, but under Brown we're spiralling out of control.

As others have noted, I do not think the Chairman will shirk from a difficult decision if he becomes convinced that PB cannot turn things quickly. He clearly likes PB but that does not mean he will accept the manager's plea for more time and new players.

If people stopped coming to matches and didn't renew their season tickets, thus depriving Ron of necessary income, he would act whether he wanted to or not.

Please note that I am not advocating action of this kind.

My worry is if we give him the transfer window but don't get the required people in and end up in the same place a month later.

I have always been pro brown however I do think this is the correct time for a change. I really dont see why people keep saying Barrett, Maher etc as our new manager though. Just because they are ex-Southend players and love the club doesnt mean they are going to do well. However I would be happy with Chris Powell as he has experience and will be a good fit.

We need a manager who has been there and done it in this league otherwise we are going to go down.

If/when Brown goes who do we realistically want (not Tilson, Maher etc)?

If Brown isn't sacked and stays why should he worry what happens as, unless we shoot up the League, he is unlikely to be given a new contract and will be gone at the end of the season.
