Question What is making you happy today?

Graduating yesterday after four years of university in Bath, onto the next chapter now.

Well done Sam.

Brilliant stuff mate, well done. What's next? Paid employment, Masters, long period of reflection and relaxation?

Long period of taxation, surely? After all someone's got to pay for our pensions.:winking:

Thanks RHB! On the job hunt, hopefully looking to get something back in Spain after being out there last year.

Isn't unemployment rife in Spain?

Not if you're a talented graduate.Ask our younger daughter -offered a full time contract with a consultancy firm after just two months into an internship with them.

Yes it certainly is. Spain has the second highest Youth unemployment rate in Europe at around 40%, incredibly only 5% or so behind Greece. GB rate is around 12%.
Yes, but in part depends upon the level of education. Spain had a huge construction sector before the crash and a lot of young people were, and until the last few years continued, leaving school at 16 to get a job in that field with no qualifications required. It crashed and they were left with no job and no qualifications.

Now graduates are generally in quite high demand, especially those who speak more than one language, as TUIB says. Might take an internship or contact to get your foot in the door and make an impression but once you're there then if anything it's easier than in the UK where grads face several stages assessment centres, etc.

It's certainly a challenge but one I'm optimistic about. Doing quite a lot of freelance work at the moment so not in a desperate rush to find something instantly for financial reasons and have plenty to do. Worst comes to the worst I'll be looking at work here in the UK.

I can't say I'm surprised that a decent education means a better chance of getting a job. Good luck. Hope it goes well.

Finally biting the bullet and buying season cards for Mrs RHB and me. Got a further £25 off each card for being new (me) and introducing a friend (her). Total cost for us both (over 60s) £450. Buying tickets last season for every home game cost me over £650 so this was a good deal.

Watched the Lions in a packed pub while getting thoroughly drunk. Trying to explain the concept of a draw to the two American's with us. They enjoyed the field goals ha ha

Not one but two free cans of Innocent sparkling lemon and lime drink at Kings Cross.

The lady handing them out said she like my smile.

One of tonight's bedtime stories... Too many Dave's by Dr. Seuss.

Did I ever tell you that Mrs. McCave
Had twenty-three sons and she named them all Dave?
Well, she did. And that wasn't a smart thing to do.
You see, when she wants one and calls out, "Yoo-Hoo!
Come into the house, Dave!" she doesn't get one.
All twenty-three Daves of hers come on the run!
This makes things quite difficult at the McCaves'
As you can imagine, with so many Daves.
And often she wishes that, when they were born,
She had named one of them Bodkin Van Horn
And one of them Hoos-Foos. And one of them Snimm.
And one of them Hot-Shot. And one Sunny Jim.
And one of them Shadrack. And one of them Blinkey.
And one of them Stuffy. And one of them Stinkey.
Another one Putt-Putt. Another one Moon Face.
Another one Marvin O'Gravel Balloon Face.
And one of them Ziggy. And one Soggy Muff.
One Buffalo Bill. And one Biffalo Buff.
And one of them Sneepy. And one Weepy Weed.
And one Paris Garters. And one Harris Tweed.
And one of them Sir Michael Carmichael Zutt
And one of them Oliver Boliver Butt
And one of them Zanzibar Buck-Buck McFate ...
But she didn't do it. And now it's too late.

I think my favourite Dr. Seuss poem is "Oh, the Places You'll Go".
