What is hacking you off today?

The new streetlights. They've replaced most of the ones in Benfleet, and seem to have now put them all on one side of the road, rather than alternate sides as they used to be.

Kev took me to the Galvin Green Man for my birthday recently and there were great swathes of them not on, meaning visibility on the quite major roads, was really poor. That's bad in itself, but we also have several not working or flickering. There's a stretch of Kents Hill Road, near the junction with Melcombe, where there are 3 or 4 out - and which have been out for two years now. It's a recognised fault, apparently they are "not communicating". Means this stretch of the road is pitch dark, you can barely see the parked cars on one side until you're on top of them, and pedestrians are mere shadows. Add to this the zebra crossing outside Kents Hill School, where you can't see anyone waiting to cross on the side opposite the school.

Just really dangerous on the roads, if you're walking, please try and wear something light so you're seen!

Chuck the 3rd involvement in having submarine HMS Agincourt re-named to HMS Achilles so as not to offend our beloved French allies….what an effing joke!
The Royal Navy are cool with the name change. Now named in honour of the WWII HMS Achilles that recieved battle honours. Rather fitting I'd say.

There seems to be about a 50/50 split on being happy about it. Including ex Navy and Nato Commanders. The Queen named it HMS Agincourt. King Charles was worried about upsetting the French, and got in touch with the MoD, and they agreed the name change. I'm not happy about it, you're happy about it, that's fair enough.
