And folks are covering their gardens with plastic "grass".
I think the new garden waste disposal service in Thurrock (where we have to pay £80 for the bin to be emptied) has meant a couple of my neighbours have started to allow their gardens to grow wild.

Won't be long before the postman opts to change into trousers to deliver their post to avoid the stinging nettles and brambles.

Off to see Jazz,Soul & Blues artist Angie Wells in Sant Chinian on Thursday.Unfortunately her 2017 CC Love & Mischief is only available on streaming NOt on CD.Sadly the Mp 3 format doesn't do it for me.

The one decent feature about my 23 year old rusty fiesta has finally given up the ghost just when I required it the most.

Yep, now the nice weather is here the Air Con has decided to stop working.

Press the button and the light comes on and I notice a change in revs, but no cold refreshing air.

I feel like a Greggs sausage roll being baked whilst driving my car currently.

You lot don't know how lucky you are. In my day there was no air-con, no power steering, no ABS, no wheel locking nuts, so sometimes you came out to no wheels, Lol.

I remember coming home from Plymouth after working there all week in a mk1 Escort van and the gear stick came off in my hand and I nursed it 300miles back, but it was a grand life all those years ago.

I remember being driven around in a couple of my parents cars when I was young. Will always remember a lazing hot day stuck in traffic jam on the A31 going through the New Forest. The back windows only opened half way down. Traffic moved about a metre every 20 seconds and the route seemed to be littered with overheated cars.

Me and my brother must have both lost a few pounds sweating in the back of that car.

Polished the car yesterday afternoon. Finished that then put the windscreen sunshade up on it, and then added the steering wheel lock, job done. Just sitting down to drink a cup of coffee, phone rings, 'Can you come in to the Pharmacy this afternoon to have your Covid booster?' says the man, 'what time?' says me, ' now' he says. FFS. Take the sunscreen off, remove the wheel lock, drive to pharmacy, no on street parking spaces. Finally get parked, have jab, and my arm is aching like the blazes this morning. When did I get old? once upon a time this wouldn't have ****ed me off so much!

Yet more roadworks in and around Rayleigh and no bugger actually working on them 😡
Well doesn’t that make a change.😡

The ones that wind me up are where they’re working on the footpath and divert a cone footpath contraflow into the road with temporary traffic lights.

Quite often there is nobody using the cone footpath but the traffic either way still gets held up.

Why the hell don’t they just use a temporary crossing that only stops the traffic when people want to cross by pressing the button, minimum hold ups for everybody then.

My air con packed it in a while ago, old Fiesta here too. Driving into work this week has been dreadful, feel your pain.

I'm hoping to sell mine soon for the little it's worth

It's been chaos with the works by The Oakwood for the last week.

Go to play golf at Hullbridge yesterday and there are lights on Crown Hill. Burst water main which can't be helped. Head towards Hambro Hill and they are just setting up a load of bollards and lights by Rayleigh Cemetery. Did they not consult with all the lazy MILK who use that stretch of road and pavement as a car park so little Jimmy hasn't got to walk too far.

Quick call into friend in Hullbridge and Ferry Road is as and side roads are being dug up as well.

At least Blockley is Hockley again......for now.

Rant over.

Jordan Cox has surgery to remove his appendix overnight but Essex have to plough on with 10 men for the rest of the match. He hadn't even batted. Ridiculous rule

EUFA, who have shown many times their dislike of England(Probably stems from English fan trouble), have threatened to ban Jude Bellingham for the next game, or even the rest of the tournament, after he made a rude hand gesture after scoring. They suggest it was aimed at Slovakia. It clearly wasn't. He said it's an inhouse joke between him and a few close friends, and I believe him. Now Cristiano Ronaldo did the same gesture once, and he was not banned, but fined 20,000 Euros. So a fine and a warning is fair. A ban will be an absolute disgrace.
