Yeah should all be covered, still means forking out the money upfront though sadly.Hopefully your insurance co will pay for the Airbnb's?.

Surely that is a personal choice, & cannot be forced on you?.Received an email from Essex and Suffolk Water advising that we are in line for a smart water meter whether we want it or not. Surveying of our area is about to commence it seems.
This is the cruncher from the email:Surely that is a personal choice, & cannot be forced on you?.
This would be training the parents of the future so they can take responsibility.Government spending £11m on teeth brushing lessons in schools, WTAF !!
How is it acceptable that this is not a basic parental responsibility.

£11m sounds like a lot (although it wouldn’t buy you a full set of teeth of a Premiership player) but it’ll pale into insignificance compared to the future savings with all those fillings it’ll avoid down the line.

Of course it's a basic parental responsibility but that doesn't mean there aren't **** parents out there. If spending £11m on this means the unfortunate kids of bad parents don't end up costing the NHS hundreds of millions down the line when they get tooth decay it's a good return on investment.Government spending £11m on teeth brushing lessons in schools, WTAF !!

Why on earth would you be against a measure that will improve public health and is estimated to save the taxpayers three times the cost over the next five years alone. That’s probably the most positive spin anyone could ever put on a story that centred around spending public money on teeth-brushing lessons![]()
I didn't see him, so this is a long shot, but could he have been working nights?I bought a coffee from McDonalds at 8am and a bloke was sitting at a table eating a McMuffin and drinking a can of strong lager.
I've seen some kids given coke / fanta etc into their sippy cups and even bottles that are meant to be used for milk!Of course it's a basic parental responsibility but that doesn't mean there aren't **** parents out there. Tooth decay is the most common reason five-to-nine-year-olds in England are admitted to hospital.
One in three(!) kids in the most deprived areas suffers from tooth decay.
Aren't those already done at school? It'd be a crap school if a kid doesn't get told off by the teacher for littering or spitting on the floor. Learning about diseases should already be part of the science curriculum. Why stop there? Why not spend £20m on teaching kids not to spit on the floor? How beneficial would it be for kids to learn about the spread of diseases?
How much would it cost to teach youngsters to use a bin instead of the floor? Think of the positive impact that could have on the environment over the next 5 years.
Maybe we need a drive on teaching 5-9 years olds in deprived areas that washing your hands before eating is quite a sensible idea.
Why teeth brushing, and not these things?

We do have anti littering campaigns, public money is spent on that. Why stop there? Why not spend £20m on teaching kids not to spit on the floor? How beneficial would it be for kids to learn about the spread of diseases?

The short answer is because it’s The State - and it’s never ending supply of public money - to the rescue, rather than having difficult conversations with parents who simply don’t deserve that title.
This isn’t splitting atoms here, it’s teaching your kids to brush their teeth ffs![]()

I rememember I was shamed by a Danish ex-girlfriend when I dropped an empty gum packet in the street-in my mid -twenties-she picked it up! I've never dropped any litter since! And yet still we have litter everywhere. Look at the state of the seafront after a warm weekend.
I don’t believe any amount of public money will install ethics & morals in people. That, traditionally, has to be done by the family unit. IMHO.
