Anyone else get a Christmas and NY cold? Everyone in our family including parents and siblings got it and none of us have shifted it fully. I’ve had a hacking cough for the last 3 days and that’s after 12 days of this ****. Not all of us have taken Covid tests but of those that have none are positive. I’ve not been ill with mine it’s just ****ing me off.
Mrs RHB is now in full snot and splutter mode. The cough is still in embryonic stage but it's also coming. She's gone from 'normal' to snarling, grumpy Mrs RHB very quickly. Hopefully a few days in the warm will help. I can't wait for my turn!

Same problem Unfortunately.I,ve suggested she go to our local Cap (Health Centre) but she tells me she can't wait 10 days for an appointment and doesn't want to hang around for 2/3 hours in the waiting room for an emergency one and pick up everbody else's diseases! Go figure! On top of which she left her mobile at a friend's (of mine ) yesterday in Begues an hour's drive from here -which is where she's gone now to retrieve it.Women!

Reactions: RHB
Extremely lucky. Both are pretty good and don't touch or swing the bath screen and it's only us that move it.

The manufacturer supposedly has a lifetime guarantee so I'll be putting that to the test. It will only be 3 years old in February so I guess I'll know just how long a lifetime is based on their response.

As for Ikea I'm dreading that.
Update Merlyn Showering (the company of the bath screen) put me through to their technical team. They asked for a couple of photos to be taken of the product / bracket that fail and they are sending out a brand new shower screen (at least thats what they said on the phone)

Credit where credit is due. A lifetime guarantee to them is 30 years

Truck just burst into flame right in front of the owner of the company.
You appear to be really unlucky with your truck. Is it the same one every time or is the owner a total tightarse when it comes to your rolling stock?

No, as the new boy I get the old dog. Solanoid burnt out and decided to burst into flame. Its rare but can happen. The owner is a strange one. He sees a pair of newish gloves in the bin and goes mental, if the Transport Manager asks for a new truck or equipment then he thinks nothing of spending whatever is needed. No one hurt and not too much damage so he's ok about it.

I don't know if it was a solenoid, but a van's engine started to spurt flames in front of me on the A127 near Mayflower Retail Park. He swerved across from the outside lane in front of me and straight into the layby, just as a van was leaving it. How none of us collided is still a mystery to me.

Yep, mine broke on the Friday before Christmas as we finished work. It wasn't really a cold but a dreadful sore throat and dry cough. Meant I couldn't see my new baby grandson or my daughter, and because I've still got signs of it, still haven't met him for a cuddle. So frustrating!

For the last 4 winters ( Nov 1st- March 1st ) i've taken very strong Vit D pills daily, & so far so good. May be just a coincidence, but i'll carry on with them.
The ones i take i buy in U.S.A whilst on my travels, & the bottle says to take one daily. Over here, very few outlets sell the same strength ones, & those that do say only take them once every 2-3 days!.
Weird how different countries differ in there suggested dosage?.

You know you'll end up looking 'Trumpy' Tony, don't you?

I stopped taking supplementay Vit,D pills this winter and no negative after -effects to report (touch wood) so far.MInd you I do eat a lot more fish than I used to but nowhere near as much as you do.

TBH my 'other half' stopped taking them a couple of weeks ago, as they literally emptied her stomach on a daily basis, & now takes a lower dosage one.
They do the same to me if i have kippers or salmon for lunch, guess i'm overdosing on vit D.
But this time of year i also devour sausages & bacon in baguettes, & a tin of soup with toast a couple of times as well.

I don't often get ill, I don't feel ill, it's just there - I take vitD3 from Lamberts daily which is quite a good dosage. Just want this gone so I can meet our grandson!

@Billy Bests boot laces if you fancy picking me up some spray calamine next time you're over I'd be grateful! I don't know why we don't do it over here, but it's great when I get hives or an allergic reaction!!!
