What's really hacking me off today is only having the choice between right or far right candidates in the Southend West by-election. I'll be spoiling my ballot paper.
I voted for the Psychedelic Movement (yeah, really). Seemed like a groovy thing to do as I couldn't bring myself to vote for anyone else, including SUFC scarf wearing candidates. I just couldn't not vote.

Postal deliveries in the SS0 area of Southend. Our regular bloke got a transfer back to Southend depot and since then (over a week ago) no sign of anyone wearing the uniform with letters. Some parcels have been appearing. I wonder if there is still a staffing shortfall for the post code.

I was initially going to do the same but then saw that their 'manifesto' included some BS about putting Yaxley-Lennon in the House of Lords. I think I'm going to spoil my paper for the first time in my entire life.

Oi mods, no politics. But as it's light hearted, I'm voting for the Raving Loony Party. They have some great pledges.

The Frivolous Fraud Office setup to inspect fraud too silly for the Serious Fraud Office.

Greyhound racing will be banned to prevent the country going to the dogs.

Half the grey squirrels will be painted red to increase the red squirrel population.

Innocent prisoners will be released in order to reduce prison overcrowding.

National debt will be cleared by putting it all on our credit card.

OAPs will qualify for a Summer Ice Lolly Allowance if temperatures exceed 70 degrees.

Puddles deeper than 3 inches will be marked by a yellow plastic duck.

Quitters will be encouraged not to start in the first place to improve their self esteem.

Terrorists will be made to wear Bells and Horns so we know where they are.

Unruly teenagers will be superglued together, if you can’t beat them, join them.

X-Ray machines will be manned by a skeleton staff.

All animals can use a Zebra crossing.

I can go weeks without post, then get a letter weeks later saying I haven't paid a bill that I never recieved in the first place.

It's been like that for the last couple of years.

The Post, Southend sorting area, have recently introduced new working practices and also moved rounds persons off regular routes, often without notice etc AND many, including my excellent, Arsenal supporting, 62 yr old Postie have decided to leave. Early retirement in mine's case. All in all it sounded like a regular management brainless ****storm at the PO..

Charity shop Stranger Things jigsaw had two pieces missing.

I did my bit to help Mencap and Sue Ryder and they ****ed me in the ***.

I called in to Short Street Delivery Office on Saturday as we haven't seen a postman for over two weeks now. The guys there were great and searched the boxes for our mail and found one piece. They reckon there are 1000s of letters waiting sorting and delivery but the rounds are now too big and there are too many posties off with stress. I emailed Royal Mail customer Service and asked if they have a recovery plan. Got a reply back which was obviously generic.....very sorry etc but no explanations or plan to fix. Royal Mail continue to underwhelm customers it seems.

Was jubilant on Sunday morning to awake and see that the eyesore of a caravan has now gone from my neighbours drive. To put it in some context the caravan in question arrived in 2019 missing the front window, but to protect it from the rain it was covered by a blue tarpaulin until somtime in 2020 when a storm ripped it from the caravan. Since then it has sat there looking more and more neglected.

Today I drive to Langdon Hills and just past the turning for Horndon on the hill what do i spy, but the same said caravan, clearly dumped at the side of the road.

If i had a towbar i'd hitch it up and dump it right back on my neighbours drive. I think a little call to the council will be in order instead, although very much doubt they will enforce the dumping and will probably just clear it away and add the cost onto council tax bills
