Posters seem to forget this is just not being held in London

33 countries have the same protest but the papers seem to ignore this, personally good luck to them and if it brings global problems to the forefront then its good news
Thank god we donot have dinosaurs like Free country leaders ignoring the problem, the unacceptable problem is the breaking off windows and graffitti by morons, but any section will have these, it deters from the real reason why the protest was formed

I was in Barcelona last month, and coincidentally, they held a similar demonstration whilst I was there.

Their demonstration didn’t affect the City, to the levels this one has affected London however.

The issue is social, The solution(s) are political. There's a difference.

I haven’t seen any political solutions being suggested.

Neither do I think it s a political issue, to discuss how these people are breaking the law, and affecting hundreds of thousands of Londoners’ lives, in a social manner.

Talk about Tories this or Labour that, is political. The posts that were deleted were referencing politicians, politics and political choices / decisions. That is why they were deleted. No more explanation should be needed. Those posts that remain are about global warming etc and social issues around it, as Napster says.

How about just moving on now, please?

Social issues can only have political solutions therefore it is impossible to discuss the one without involving the other. To attempt otherwise obviates any meaningful discussion.

Game of Thrones, I’m fed up of hearing all the rubbish about it. I don’t watch it and never will, the sooner it ends the better.

Apparently, the smell of weed/skunk was so strong they brought in the sniffer dogs. I'm 100% behind what they are protesting about, but against this form of protest. Disrupting the life of innocent people is not right. And now they are talking about stopping tube trains tomorrow, by whatever means, and bringing the network to a standstill. I hope they don't.

Christy almighty. As someone who works on parliament square, let me be clear that no sniffer dogs were needed. My sense of smell is rubbish, really hopeless, but I was positively stoned to high heaven on arrival at work today. God knows what state the dogs were in.

So let me get this straight. It's acceptable on this forum to denigrate the character, lifestyle and personal habits of the protesters and to advocate violence against them, but we mustn't discuss the merits of their case or even suggest it might be something to do with the government's abysmal record on climate change and green issues. Have I got that right?

The Politics forum was binned because people couldn’t have political discussions without resorting to being abusive towards each other. The owners and the mods decided it would be best for the forum if we got rid of the Politics forum. We have also banned chat on politics throughout. That includes in this thread! So we have the right to remove anything we think is going down that route. This is a forum for Southend United and we allow other discussion. Unfortunately because people couldn’t play nicely the subject of politics is now banned. There are plenty of other platforms out there for people to argue and bicker about politics, this is not the place. We do this for free and in our own time. We don’t want to be spending that whole time wading through pathetic bickering.

It’s as simple as that. If you have any further issues or concerns feel free to PM me or one of the other mods/owners.

Just a pointer here for you sir..Uptop it says Shrimperzone.com.I guess this would point to the fact we are a football site. We have always allowed other topics to be on here...Most football forums do not.

We seriously cannot be arsed anymore with reported posts whilst you lot throw your handbags about.

To this end, that is how it is....NO POLITICS ALLOWED.

weed is openly smoke everywhere now, just walking long residential streets I regularly smell it.
I was at a gig in a church a few weeks ago and some kids came and sat behind me and the smell of what they had just been smoking was so strong I had to move because my legs were like jelly just from the smell!
Climate change protests appeal to people from all walks of life, the stereotypical protesters are more likely to be photographed but there will be a varied group involved.
I would judge on what they actually do rather than what they are rumoured to be doing next, a lot of false information gets passed around.

To be fair, most of the folks in parliament square today are the nicest folks you’d want to meet. Ok, they are stoned but honestly they are the sharing type and not in the least offensive. What was quite interesting was the lentil soup kitchen for protesters and a little book stand bearing the legend ‘Book exchange not climate change’ - I kid you not. :Thumbs up:

Sothe simple answer to my question, without the necessity for the condescending little lecture, is 'yes' you can be abusive or violence endorsing as you like so long as you don't actually discuss the issues involved. Thank you for clarifying that.

So someone advocating giving the climate change protesters a kicking is ok but discussing the issues is not?
