One of my favourite restaurants, Padrino, has had its licence revoked and been fined £60k for employing 3 illegal workers. The owners reckon that the loss of the licence could put them out of business. Employing illegals can't be condoned but the penalties seem a bit steep to me.

Employing illegals or exploiting illegals?

If the owner performed DD and was fooled by fake documents then I have every sympathy. If this was the case then surely there would be copies of the documents and evidence of tax/NI payments.

If on the other hand they were trying to save a few quid by paying cash in hand and avoiding tax, NI, holiday/sick pay obligations then I have zero sympathy.

I had heard that Berick had died (Parkers M/c FB page had the news) but I didn't know the shop had shut, he used to run it with his brother . Bought my last two bikes off hime
My info is that he was sole trader, and owner of stock, bikes, shop and flat above, just employing one of his two or more brothers. Died without having made a will so it is all frozen and the taxman and accountants will be reaping much of the assets.

If it’s not racism it’s sexism that’s being smacked in our faces second article relating to this I’ve seen today:

https://www.thisisinsider.com/holly...beth-ii-and-the-queens-husband-respectively-9

The majority of the time the male actor is a massively established actor with a huge name hence the gap in pay. Nothing to do with the sex of the person.

If we are going on gender pay gaps then why do I get paid the same as a female who has an easier fitness test to do than me?
Why are male actors more established and a bigger name than female actors? That would be a reason in some cases, and the opposite in other cases, then it would even out. It doesn't even out.

No the female is not a dog. I am no longer a dog handler.

Yep fair point but their argument has come off of the back of Michelle Williams (who?) working with Mark Walhberg and getting a lesser pay. That’s like Ben Coker saying he wants to be paid the same as Paul Pogba.
When were Coker and Pogba in the same side?

After watching a programme on TV, I just realised too late in life that I could have been a Millionaire like the artist Sean Scully for painting basic easy art. He actually uses a large wall decorators brush most of the time. He paints mostly stripes or blocks. He can produce loads of these in a day. He does his art galleries where most of his work is for sale. Little wonder when it can be replaced with similar so quick. I genuinely believe I could paint this stuff, and I was useless at art in school.
This one went for £800,750. He uses a pencil to mark out the sections and then fills in the paint. You can see the pencil marks on some of them. Sometimes he sticks bits together. No one was interested in his art for the first umpteen years, and then it suddenly took off.

Here's some more.

Last night when I was delivering Amnesty International leaflets I encountered some bloke wearing a Spall anorak urinating against a war memorial last night.

I challenged him and when he wouldn't desist I was left with no option but to strike him to the ground.

Tree huggers bringing Central London to a grinding halt.

I wish for once our old bill would act accordingly, and simply drag these ****s away in hand cuffs, instead of gently pandering to them.

Look at them. What can only be described as a Col U sized, unwashed, rabble have brought the City Of London to a standstill.

Old bill should be hauling them away. Not allowing this **** to happen freely.

Jesus Christ we so soft.

Obviously you're not concerned about the future of the planet then.Leave it to the kids to worry about. After all it'll be their problem .Not yours.

The stripes are something which looks easy to do but I think would be really difficult to pull off convincingly.

If you want to create a convincing modern art display I think the trick is to exploit child labour. I commissioned my nephew when he was a toddler and got an abstract piece in blue. There's still some controversy about which way round the picture goes but I'm sure that will just add to the price when it reaches auction.

More concerned about those poor souls who missed important hospital appointments today, some who have waited for months to get seen, and may now have to wait even longer to get another appointment.

Or the businesses who couldn’t receive any supplies/stock today, and who will now feel that knock on effect.

I’m also more concerned about the thousands of people who were depending on today’s wages to fund their next council tax bill (which has increased btw) but now may not have the money for it, due to not being able to actually do any work.

And that goes for all of those who are living paycheck-to-paycheck, and are utterly dependent on every single days money they earn.

And on top of that, I’m more concerned that this stunt, sets a dangerous precedent, that a small, organised set of self-righteous bumble ****s, can cause so much grief.

But hey, as long as a group of unwashed can have their five minutes of disruptive fun, and forever say... well we did our part, we brought London to a standstill for a bit.

Anyway, no real bother to you. What’s the plan for tonight señor? Nice bit of Tapas? Few tinto’s on the terrace?
