So someone advocating giving the climate change protesters a kicking is ok but discussing the issues is not?

Ok, on your first point if you feel Zone rules have been broken then there is a 'Report' facility at the bottom of every post. Moderators will review any report received and decide whether to allow it or not. This ties into the second extract I posted above. On your second point, discussing the issues, if it becomes political, and often it will. then we will remove the post concerned as it is Zone policy that Politics will not be allowed on this site. I hope that clarifies things for you. I will not be responding publicly to anything further on this in this thread.

Sothe simple answer to my question, without the necessity for the condescending little lecture, is 'yes' you can be abusive or violence endorsing as you like so long as you don't actually discuss the issues involved. Thank you for clarifying that.
if you want to make it black and white and throw in something as ridiculous as the above, then you should probably get ready for a few more condescending little lectures would be my guess.

We’re not trying to limit freedom of speech and I’d argue that suggesting the protesters get a good kicking says more about the poster than the protesters. But get used to it - the political discussions and many Zoners’ inability to behave like adults made this a **** place to be and drove lots of people away from this site. We’ve corrected that. There is no longer a politics forum. And we no longer allow political discussions - simply because they're rarely discussions!

We won’t get the balance right every time and clearly there are still one or two who want to push us on it (last warnings). So if you don’t like posts, use the report a post function and we’ll take a view on it. If you still think we’re not getting it right, send us a PM. And then if you feel even stronger about it, and this is no longer the place for you, then there are other choices you can make as to how you spend your time.

Those are the options. We’re not debating it any more on here.

What is hacking me off is the "report" button - the number of times I go to "like" a post but end up getting the report thing up instead!!!!

In a famous phrase Ken Tynan said:"I doubt if I could love anyone who did not wish to see Look Back in Anger."

Feel the same way about Fawlty Towers I'm afraid, :Winking:

Now, Look Back in Anger was a terrific play and film, remember doing it for O-level!

Afraid I just was never a fan of Monty Python, aside from the odd sketch, and the only thing I found funny about Fawlty Towers was the character of Manuel.
