Well I am home. In a plot twist bigger than Harry turning up at Boots and Laces. I was visited by the surgeon as I was about to leave to tell me that my Appendix wasn't removed. Instead, some unexplained scar tissue and adhesions were found around the Bowel/Appendix area so these were deemed to be the cause of the pain and were removed instead.

I've never had any surgery in that area so how there is scar tissue has bamboozled the surgeon. Probably from when I was abducted by aliens then ?

Have you ever woken up in a Turkish prison?

I know some people slate the NHS but they've saved me twice - once was appendicitis which was on the verge of exploding, one was a haematoma.

I had a good experience to be honest. Other than the receptionist in A&E being a ****, everyone was nice and helpful.

I've always had kind and considerate treatment from the NHS - fortunately I've never had anything serious. We should all love the NHS and treasure it - it's under terrible threat. You'll miss it when it's gone.

Piriformis Syndrome ( type of sciatica ), very painful. Not seeing Acupuncturist till next Fri, oh dear!.
All pain killers useless, just keep stretching the muscle & sitting on a hot water bottle. Thank goodness i'm not going out anywhere!.

Totally agree when I got mauled by one of our working dogs the people in A&E were excellent with me. I wasn’t waiting long and the care I got was 2nd to none.

An NHS under the pressure it constantly is will make mistakes. That said, the medical care they offer is first class and the vast majority of people that have had cause to visit hospitals as patients leave being fixed and very grateful. You will always get a few gobshites who insist on bad mouthing hospitals, especially A&E units, sadly folk usually only take to social media to complain not to praise.

It really annoys me that outside the hospital are always loads of smokers, including pyjama wearing patients on drips etc, often staff too. Crazy.
And the number of obese people who wonder why they have related medical conditions!
A friend's dad had a stroke, he was very overweight and diabetic, the rehab got him fitter than he had been for 40 years and off insulin but 4 months out of treatment he is back to diabetic and eating crap, grrrr, it has really heesed my mate off.
If these people want to commit such self abuse and harm then there ought to be a system in place that ensures folk who don't neglect basics are not relegated or financially penalized because of that.
I would add drug and alcohol abusers to the list to of unacceptable self inflicted injury

It’s never that simple though is it?

Addiction is an illness. Would you class footballers who suffer injury, cyclists who get hit by a car mountain climbers, people fixing a toaster with a fork self inflicted? Where do you draw the line?

No, for sure a lot of it is to a degree mental health, poor social skills, limited education, basic life skills and more but there are real issues that need addressing if the NHS is to carry on delivering as most want.
And then there is the prescription fiasco where simple drugs like ibuprofen cost NHS £10 by "free" script and 74p in a supermarket/chemist.

A sporting injury is an accident (unless Roy Keane is involved) and the benefits of sport outweigh the risks, the cyclist who is blameless in a collision is just that blameless and indeed is following health guidelines by taking exercise, similarly with the planned/prepared climber.
Doing silly thinks with electric items, cycling without lights at night, no helmet or ropes climbing unskilled etc are blurring "the line" you speak of.
It will, eventually, come down to costs and priorities who the NHS can treat: and if just a small % of treatments can be avoided by reasonable and simple actions then that needs to be actioned and sanctioned.

Twitter, the replies I’ve just read to a tweet asking why people don’t like Amir Khan. Why do people instantly assume because someone doesn’t like him it’s racist? Just because you think someone’s a **** doesn’t mean it’s because of their colour or religious beliefs.

Having worked in London for the past few years, I’d have to say yes.

I don’t know what happens to their brains when they slip on that lycra & don the papier-mâché helmet, but it seems to cease working as it should do.

I cycle to work everyday. Fortunately I don't have to use the roads that much (we have a lot of cycle "redways") but they don't cover everywhere. The residents of MK are pretty decent bunch and often allow me to cross or wait for a big enough gap but even then you get the bellends to try to squeeze past or pull out without looking and/or caring, cut you up at a roundabout (we have a few) and acting like total cockends. Neither side is blameless (ie, cyclists without lights in winter) but the car/van/lorry driver is obviously far more protected than us cyclists and on balance I've had more issues with car drivers as a cyclist than the other way around.

However would I cycle in central London? **** no.

If it’s not racism it’s sexism that’s being smacked in our faces second article relating to this I’ve seen today:

https://www.thisisinsider.com/holly...beth-ii-and-the-queens-husband-respectively-9

The majority of the time the male actor is a massively established actor with a huge name hence the gap in pay. Nothing to do with the sex of the person.

If we are going on gender pay gaps then why do I get paid the same as a female who has an easier fitness test to do than me?

Let’s make it a hat trick of moans, solicitors being slow with their enquiries!
