Reading that all the wine ordered for the olympic venues is either brazilian or south african. What is wrong with this country, why haven't we got english wines there. What a perfect way to bolster the english wine trade ....pathetic.,......someone must have got a nice bung.

Brazilian wine? :stunned: Quite agree, plenty of English vineyards and they should be promoting everything about England. I think whenever I've tasted any English wine it's been perfectly palatable too.

Sounds like they need some English Sparkling Wine

it makes you proud to be british:stunned: The people in charge get richer...it must be backhanders...what's the reasoning behind it?apart from backhanders!

Who really gives a toss if the cars are Beemers or the wine is not English?

ps I doubt very much if the small vineyards in England could cope with a large order like the Olympics
pps name me an English car

i reckon they could cover 1mio bottles white/rose easy why give away 10 mio quid ,support uk manufacturing.Would have seemed a no brainer.

Really? 1 million extra bottles? Biddenden vineyard, one of the biggest vineyards in Kent and sells at Waitrose, produces 70,000 bottles in total.

In 2010 4mio bottles were produced in the uk alone, you are not a brazilian wine importer are you? we have known about the olympics for years,it could have been an opportunity to to boost our reputation in the global wine market,we do actually have some good wine .

Ok, 4m bottles. Where are we going to get an extra 25% capacity from? That's a lot.

fair shout, they could at least have had the white and rose order. It will be baking hot in july:cool: so the red won't sell as much!

Ours should have been in Friday, came in Saturday. Branch staff very helpful to be fair.

Mine should have been in on Saturday and it's still not in today. Yeah branch staff have been fine and I've got my payslip so if I need some cash I can go and get it. My rent goes out in a few days though.

McLaren F1.

The lack of a passenger seat isn't ideal, but with the roads cleared by those special Olympic lanes - why not?

The idiot who thought it'd be good to try and knick a live wire this morning on the rail track. Set everyone back a good hour or so.
