What have you watched on TV?

About the same. The real stars are the surrounding characters - permanantly stoned daughter and her boyfriend and the grumpy Magda.

I quite like LB, no more than that. Magda ("It's a car boot SALE. Yes, that is what I said. Car boot sell") is the undoubted star, but for me the rest of the characters are just a little bit too smart-arsed and Rick always gets mugged off by them.

It's sometimes referred to as a (very) poor man's British version of Curb Your Enthusiasm but one of the many good things about CYE is that pretty much every character is a total *******

Made in Britain BBC2....Showing how the UK is trying to bounce back with new manufacturing ideas. The main example being China V us and how they are the worlds largest manufacturing base because of low wages..It is a must see for those that think we are on the way to recovery in that area..The bottom line being we would need to open another 36000 (Thirty Six Thousand) factories here to even get ourselves back on an even keel...The world is just to over populated IMO and whilst people have to answer to shareholders that want a bigger profit year on year hence having to find more and more cost cutting to achieve this after expanding to the hilt, we will never see a sustained recovery.

I watched a bit of 'Made In Britain' which included a feature on a Chinese sports company called 'Li-Ning' that is aiming to become one of the world's top 5 sports manufacturers within a decade.

Think it might be a while before children here and in America are wanting to wear t-shirts and trainers with the word 'Lining' on them.

I watched a programme on Gil Scott-Heron. I'm guessing it was being aired as some sort of belated tribute. As it was on BBC there were no commerical interruptions, but maybe it should have been in 4 parts.

It really wasnt.

Spielberg as a producer and thats what they managed ?

Watched all four episodes hoping it would get better and it didnt. It got worse. The God squad girl is something else.

I'll give it one more episode before I condemn it. American telly really is looking for the next Battlestar/Lost and coming up short. God I miss Game of Thrones.

Twenty Twelve, shown on BBC Four earlier in the year, starts on BBC Two this Tuesday. Highly recommended - a mock documentary about the 'Head of Deliverance' team for the London Olympics.

Watched an excellent doco about The Kinks, primarily from the perspective of Dave Davies who is as mad a box of frogs, great stuff and this was followed by The Kinks at the BBC, what an underestimated band they were.

I've also sat through the Kennedy's and still undecided, it didn't really do the serial shagging, fascist appeaser, Britsh hating, IRA supporting and all round lying cheating scum bag Joe Kennedy justice.

Also saw these progs and have to agree about DD's mental state and the awesome BBC stuff.(Our 17 year old is at Benicàssim (FIB) and will be seeing their modern day counterparts,The Arctic Monkeys tonight.Ray Davies was there last year, curiously enough).

More nostalgia courtesy of the Beeb, TOTP 1964-1975, and surprisingly no Beatles. Which got me wondering if The Beatles ever appeared "live" on TOTP. When it started in 1964 they were already the biggest band in the world, so fellow oldies can anyone enlighten me

A quick hunt says that they appeared "pre-recorded" rather than live, so I guess that's a no?
