Lets Hope being patient in the transfer market pays off, although our recent history in this regard isnt that great. Something special could arrive late, as some real top players may become available at our level. Most Managers want their squad nailed down quickly, but Premier league clubs are only now assessing who they want to keep. When the top clubs start to make their moves there should be a trickle down effect to the Championship and some players are likely to have to re evaluate a League 1 move., so we should get opportunities to jump in?
Its about when we will throw the dice and when you take your gamble. . Id like to think Browns connections would help with the one or two out there that cant get a club in the championship and may have to step down. I still feel in the main though we are behind the ball too much, its OK being brave if you have already got 3 forwards in the squad you are happy with for example. As good as the trials may be, often they can equally be not especially great for making a cracking start, if you are hunting around in desperation
 
Well the fact of the matter is the players report back for training next week, and who do we have NEW nobody, its typical Southend United. But I still cant wait for the first league maych.
 
Can't see the problem with the slow transfer window. Think a lot people here live on extremes. SACK THE MANAGER, KNIGHT THE MANAGER, LOVE PIGGOT...HATE PIGGOT.


Think some "fans" have a very disjointed view of their own footballing knowledge. The manager and chairman have a far better understanding of the transfer market and the way to play it than any poster on here.

Maybe the strikers were prolific. You can set up chance after chance but if they're not converted...
 
Where are people getting Wordsworths 12 assists tally from? Everywhere I check says he got 4 while at Crawley.

Which is why lots of people now use "chances created" instead but stats below the Premiership are limited.

Same ole same ole, what is it with these people who come on here posting things that make sense we don't need this sort of logic on this site everyone knows that armchair fans know way more about the game that chairman and managers. The end of Southend is nigh... :whistling::whistling::whistling:
