Come on that's a little bit different isn't it!

Not really, he hardly got a sniff last year and he's definitely not championship standard anymore. I don't fancy him anyway - far too injury prone and his best days are way way behind him!

So in today's echo it revealed we are after mooney and Wordsworth seems ok to me although anyone seen much of Wordsworth?

Impressive if we can get these two, Wordsworth very highly rated for Col U, note his move to Ipswich..

Definitely a step in the right direction if we could bag these two.. fingers crossed

Both would be quality additions. Wordsworth struggled for injuries at Ipswich but scored 4 in 18 on loan at Crawley at the back end of last year, also has a couple of goals against Us and both played alongside White and Coker

Interesting that Brown is keen to name these targets. Either they are very close to signing, or we are about to miss out on them and he is deflecting the pressure onto Ron/SK as if to say "well I'm doing my bit by lining these targets up, just saying".

Isn't Wordsworth said to have a bit of an attitude problem? Not anything particularly malicious, just happy to bum about on a bumper deal without particularly putting it about. Cracking player on his day, but the test will be whether Brown can coax enough of those days out of him. Would also seemingly spell the end for Hurst here I would've thought.

Mooney's a decent option at this level mind. Brown has a clean slate to build a strike force in his own image this year, so it'll be interesting to see how he builds it. Last season he certainly appeared to just want to chuck loanees at the problem until one of them stuck.

Don't know about that but he certainly likes playing against us. He's scored four in the last four derby matches and the last three goals they've scored against us have all been by him.

He takes a very good free kick too, which is something we lack at the moment.

I'd be more than happy with both. Wordsworth was always a pain in the backside when we played Col Ewe, and we need more creativity in midfield. Freekick specialist too.

Doesn't sound like he has an attitude problem.

“He’s impressed over the last few weeks and deserved to start,” said McCarthy, who saw his team close the gap on the play-off places to five points courtesy of second half goals from Tommy Smith and Daryl Murphy.

“I’d been banging on at him and I think he’s really responded by competing well in the Under-21 games and with his attitude in training. That’s what got him in. He’s played well in all the games I’ve seen and he’s worked really hard.”
