Indeed, and no senior striker is going to sign if we already have 3 on the books.

Why ever not? Any/all players have to earn their place in the team and surely no player can demand that the club does not sign or bring in loan players to compete for their position.

It's not about players demanding anything. If we had three good strikers then why would someone senior (defined as being reasonably proven) want to join us to try and compete? They'd rather go to a club offering a similar contract with a better change of playing regularly.

There are few benefits to having a large squad. One of the main issues is keeping everyone happy and sharp.

You may be right in some circumstances and not in others as there are multiple factors influencing why a player joins one club rather than another.

One could view the situation that going to a club with other good strikers would be positive as it may mean the club will be getting the points total moving and therefore in the running for the play-offs or promotion.

And I would have thought that the way the game is played today and the frequency of the games that most strikers are aware that they will not be starting in all 46 league games and the cup games.

Still, I shall say no more.

Didn't Brown say a few months back he'd want to sign eight players whether we or not promoted or not?
I think ultimately that was dependent on what division we ended up in. I imagine now with the emergence of Bolger and Barret's partnership he may feel there's not as much need to strengthen in those areas.

Oldham fans confident that Jake Cassidy will be signing for them early next week.

If that happens it will be a big disappointment as far as I'm concerned. I would really like to have him back.

Didn't we use the second fewest amount of players (behind Wycombe I believe) last season. Big squads do not equal success. I imagine we will use a squad of around 22-24 players supplemented with loans throughout the season.

I'm excited by the higher calibre of player we will be looking at loaning in. I believe both PB and Steve Kavanagh have spoken on the record about how hard it has been to attract good quality loan players from nearby Championship and Premier League clubs owing to being in L2 so hopefully this will change this season.

He be right at home in South East of Essex, as there is loads of polish girls there ;) on a serious note, he would be a upgrade on what we got in the team & would improve us attacking wise.
