A Bit of Fun Transfer Rumours Thread (Potential New Signings)

Has Hallam Hope changed? Always remembered him as a winger cutting in from the left rather than a creative attacking mid. Won't argue with Rees though - definitely a profile of player we lack at the mo.

Edit: Though I think Ogogo is more box to box than holding in the Dunne mold, not the same time of player IMO.

Thanks for that information on Ogogo and Dunne. That is good to hear.

With respect to Hallam Hope, his manager at Oldham, Keith Curle (and also his boss previously at Carlisle) has hailed Hope as an attacking midfielder with an eye for a goal.

Don’t think he’s coming our way, there’s a strong rumour that he’s gone back to Bromley, bigger playing budget !!
Or play for his local side that he used to watch, before he started playing pro football, just round the corner from his house, especially most of his mates watch SUFC. Bromley don’t have an bigger budget than us, especially they get 1400 crowd average.

Crowd levels have little in the way of budget at this level. There is no wage cap and it's the very reason that teams like Sutton can win the league.

That’s very true and in Bromley’s case they have heavy investment from their owner/chairman, players on good wages, a community stadium and an investment in ground improvements.

Rees would be a quality signing but I can imagine we probably need to move a couple on before we can think about affording him.

A midfield four of:

Bridge, Ogogo, Rees, Egbri

Would be pretty damn good.

I thought Bridge was a central player not wide? Or have i got that wrong

May or may not but given the Dunne signing unlikely to be plan A unless Rees can play wide or as a 10 behind the striker. That said its a squad game. If Rees wanted to come here his agent would be kicking at our door and i'm not hearing anything along these lines. And there is no way we are not aware of him.

Must have a better deal at Bromley !!
WE may have to reconcile ourselves as mentioned above to the fact we know about him and isn't in our plans. Certainly zero chance he has slipped under any radars- more likely based on him as a player (doesn't fit well with how we want to set up) or wage expectations we pressed control-alt-delate..

So many players are now without clubs today

Expect to see news on most of our out-of-contract players this week.

Oxley
Elvis

I fancy will leave within the week

JD
Dieng

Could also leave but can see them 2 hanging around for a bit longer
