A Bit of Fun Transfer Rumours Thread (Potential New Signings)

Would be a good player at our level, but I'm sure he'll be looking to play for a club closer to his Yorkshire home. His spell at Wimbledon a few years ago didn't go well due to the distance from home.

I’d be gutted to see Elvis go. Probably inevitable and understandable. I know we’re a **** club at the moment but I hope he doesn’t go to another **** club that just happens right now to be a division above us.

I would expect Elvis to be the least likely to leave mainly because I'm not sure any club that would come in for him would have the cashflow to pay the compensation we would be due.

Sounds like a negotiating ploy from Demi's agent: it's obviously not about the level of play but the level of pay.

Not fussed about losing Demi. He has outstayed his time with us. If another NL side is showing interest then it shows that he is now at that stage of his career when NL is his standard. If he is looking to get a better deal then... Goodbye. I would rather use the part of the budget that we had assigned for him to be used for a player that will have a longer term future at our club. Not just 1 year.

Not sure cashflow would be so much of an issue - tribunals tend to involve lots of installments and add-ons.

Would love to see Josh Ree's local lad! Went to school in Southend, proven at National League level, got a bundle of goals last season 1 in 3 good return from mideld.. No brainer for me.
Don’t think he’s coming our way, there’s a strong rumour that he’s gone back to Bromley, bigger playing budget !!

Josh Rees has just announced he has left aldershot due to travel...

If PB had any sense he would be round his house with a contract now
I’ve been screaming my about him all summer so far. We’ve been crying out for more goals, and here you have a local lad who has scored 16 and then 10 league goals at this level in 2 out of the past 4 seasons. I don’t care about his running and sprinting distance stats - that goal return from midfield is superb. He should be a no-brainer.

Interesting comments, Bexley Blue. My slight concern is that James Dunne and Abu Ogogo are both pretty similar ball-winning midfielders and on the face of it we do need an attacking goalscoring midfielder like Hallam Hope who went to Oldham or Josh Rees. But I suspect that the budget won't stretch to another midfielder. And maybe PB, CF and RD are expecting the likes of Phillips and Kinali to step up into the first team squad on a regular basis this year.

Has Hallam Hope changed? Always remembered him as a winger cutting in from the left rather than a creative attacking mid. Won't argue with Rees though - definitely a profile of player we lack at the mo.

Edit: Though I think Ogogo is more box to box than holding in the Dunne mold, not the same time of player IMO.
