A Bit of Fun Transfer Rumours Thread (Potential New Signings)

I think thats us done until the stadium get started, I do not think we have any budget left. I don't think we have done too badly to be honest. Murphy and Coulson would walk into any team in this division, Dunne Ogogo, Bridge and Arnold are all very solid at this level and Dalby looks like he is going to be one of our more astute signings in recent times.

Sure we have a paper thin squad but I do feel this is the first time in maybe two decades where we haven't overspent and may go a season without any serious financial collapse

It looks to me brown done all the budget, hence why he wants to move on ANG and SIm...... if brown doesn't move those players on then we will be using the loan market.
why not use them? because they have been de registered to bring in the last couple of signings I imagine..

BW2 made it clear that we haven't spent the budget and we were still within the budget, selling nearly 3200 season tickets, what's now changed I wonder

Brown doesn't rate them! ANG hasn't even played since brown been back. Sim only played 1 game since brown been back. Why have them registered if their not part your plans?

Because whether you like it or not, PB doesn’t rate either player or their work rate/attitude.

He isn’t the kind of manager to include players in the squad that he feels that way about.

In fact, the one game Sim did play was enough for Brown to say "he's not my cup of tea" after checking the physical stats of the game and Sim ran for something like 4 minutes.... something like that.

Harsh to judge on one game, but I suspect we keep a log of that data and Brown looked at that and it wasnt a one off and also input from Fagan particularly.

Shame, I liked Sim and think he'd be good at this level for sure, but I'm also happy to back Browns more informed decision than any of us.

With Brown he won't put up with any rubbish...... players like ANG and Sim were never going to be players which brown will take to. Sooner they are both gone, the better.

Because they are bang average and if they get injured playing/training with the first team we are stuck with them for another year, stopping us signing anyone else

I’d rather Rush make the squad when warranted than Akinola/ANG.

Let's ****ing hope not. If the last 20-odd years is anything to go by, we could be waiting a fair few seasons.

With Akinola and ANG, Brown is looking for players that are committed, he won't give in even though they're at the club, he's too stubborn to just let them play if they aren't going to play their best.

ANG is more likely to make his way back into the team once his injury clears but probably not.

Neither have a squad number, You wont see either of these 2 in a Southend Shirt again.

Memories do get very short on here at times

Sim played 23 games for us, he had a bad start and had to play through injury

From shrimperzoners on here his ratings were very good in Chaperz charts, frequently in the top 3 performers

Now it seems its time to jump on his neck

I for one really enjoyed his tricky play, of course he didnt score enough and the pen will doom him, but I also remember him and ANG as the only players worth watching on may occasions

Football, a game of opinions and ones that change rapidly it seems from Hero to Zero a little to quickly, sadly the nature of the game and keyboards

It doesn’t matter what we as fans think of them, Phil doesn’t rate them. ANG I don’t recall getting a load of stick on here neither was he praised very much. Akinola, ok he got some unfair stick after the penalty miss. Neither was sadly as big a star player as people hoped they might be (for us, Southend, for whatever reason that was). PB wanted to put his own stamp on things.

ANG, people loved him at first as we've not seen anyone who can dribble past people like that in years. It took a while to work out that he struggled for end product once he'd beaten two men.

I think that is a fairly apt description but this is what MM said....

On 5 October 2020, Nathaniel-George joined Southend United for an undisclosed fee. Blues boss Mark Molesley was thrilled to get the signing over the line, saying: “Ash is another exciting player. He’s got really good attributes, he’s skillful, very quick and exciting so I think he’s one that will have people on the edge of their seat. [11] He signed an extended contract with the club in December 2020.[12]

My only other thought was that at age 26 I couldnt be sure that with his attributes ANG couldnt overcome the shortfalls we saw, and potentially have a great year or learn to perform differently under new Management , Im not convinced we cant learn new ways ( or tricks/skills ) dare I say at just the age of 26

Either way, as said it seems Phil and or maybe others dont rate him apparently and he doesnt presumably fit in the clubs plans and the same goes for Sim
