A Bit of Fun Transfer Rumours Thread (Potential New Signings)

Talks are still continuing. He wants to come here, and if he does sign, he’ll have taken a significant drop in wages. He will fit into our budget, not blowing it out of the water.
Is it dependent on his existing club compensating him for the drop in wages? So depends how desperate his existing club is in moving him on?

…..and why would that be?……

If we're offering much lower wages, he maybe looking for his existing club to partly pay off his contract, so financially he is not worse off.

For example let's say his existing contract is 2k per week and he has 1 yr left. We're offering 1k per week. If his existing club pays him 12k to leave the player is in the same position financially. The selling club is 12k better off.

Hence the player may be looking for his existing club to compensate him for leaving for a lower amount of cash.

If it is Akinde I would have thought his salary would be more like £3000 a week basic plus bonuses, if that is way above what others are earning at Southend there is no way the club should match it. Gillingham seem to be struggling to attract players they want already so may just decided to keep him, it wil depend of course if he gets on well with Steve Evans, many players don't!

If it is Akinde then we won’t be paying him 3 grand a week. Besides he’d hardly be an eyebrow raiser as the Zone have been discussing him for weeks. More likely to be an “ah bollocks, it’s him”

Don’t believe that Sim is on anything like that, if that were the case, that would make him one of the leagues top earners. I suspect that he’s on between £1,000/£1,200.

Just trying to recap, are you the fella that told us on numerous occasions that RH was very very close and the contract agreed etc? Also the chap that ridiculed me for suggesting we are under some kind of transfer embargo relating to senior pros ??

as someone who still works for the club suggested to me last week, If something doesn’t add up of feel right at Southend United, then generally that’s because something isn’t right ..

just one more thought Steve Arnold senior pro ? His Twitter doesn’t seem to allude to COVID being the reason why he had to wait for so long for his debut …. Of course I’m just saying, how could a messily ordinary fan of the club be right if you and CP have rebuffed my comment

good luck Ricky Holmes .. regardless if you were good enough or not, seems an odd way for the chairman to back his manager if the player did fall into the budget

( stand back fold nothing to see here )

But we aren’t under a transfer embargo?

Now Holmes is no longer an option and Brown may be feeling let down, should we now expect Ron to approve an ‘eyebrow’ signing as a sweetener?

You don't have to be registered to play in friendlies, that's why you traditionaly see the name trailist mentioned.

Pray tell, what was the reason that sa didn't play then?

RH had agreed financial terms with PB. RM didn’t sanction the deal. Nothing more to it.

We aren’t under a transfer embargo, but whatever you want to think is fine by me. No skin off my nose whether you believe what I’ve said or not. I’m on holiday tomorrow, so you won’t have to put up with anything I say.

I don’t get what you are saying about Arnold? He is a senior pro, he tested positive for COVID and then had Covid in his family, which meant another spell of isolation.

If you’re alluding to him not being registered until his debut, you don’t have to be registered with the club, the fa or anything to play friendly matches. Hence the trialists playing…

Have a great holiday. I for one value your input.
