Talking of strikers. On Skircoat Shed, the Halifax Fans Forum, there are interesting claims that Wrexham paid at least 65,000 for Jake Hyde, which makes Southend's previous interest in the player all the more baffling given that the club is no position to fork out that sort of fee or anything close to it.

We spend more than that on soccerdomes we don't even use.

I still believe we are under an embargo or at the very least, having budget issues.

Phil Brown hinted at a lack of budget and we have since signed no one, despite the fact we had 3 or 4 players dead set on a signing.

I'm probably being paranoid, but can you blame me?
