A Bit of Fun Transfer Rumours Thread (Potential New Signings)

I have nothing to back this up but I would imagine the average wage in the national league is about 40k per year. Some will be on less and some vastly more.

The idea that players are getting paid 150k+ per year in this league is rediculous tbh. That's not to say it isn't happening.

I agree and to some being offered 40k a year isn’t a very very low salary

I have no idea What salary would constitute very very low or lower than you would expect for yin’s level. I still think very very low is relative to someone’s position. If your on minimum wage the £500 may seem a lot I have no idea, similarly if you earn £500 a week £1,000 may seem a lot and so on.

so let us know what very very low is so we can judge if it is very very low

Why does it matter? You're never going to know the precise details anyway and there's a myriad of ways that a contract can be structured that would effect take-home pay.

They could be skewed more heavily towards base salary, which might be attractive to a more seasoned pro looking for a steady pay-day. At the other end of the scale, it could be more incentive-based, so if you're a young lad/not mortgaged to the hilt and you back yourself to score goals or keep clean sheets, maybe that's the way to go. Sure you can probably broadly guesstimate an average weekly wage per division, but it's like comparing apples and oranges.

In my humble opinion, this is the danger with ITK posts... If the source is good and the intel is succinct, it's great. If it's even vaguely opaque, it sends some people into a lather. My personal opinion is that I can't control it, so why worry?

It real terms it doesnt matter but as it was posted that the first offers were very very low, i felt i had the right to ask wha that was. I only talk base salary as I do not think many people in the world outside of football get a weekly scoring bonus lol.

All i was saying was really that if someone things a grand a week is very very low then it is relative as some one earning minimum wage of £8.91per hour, then that would seem very very Hugh. But as you say it doesnt really matter i was just curious what was called very very low. APologies if that offended you or anyone

As for ITK’s i agree if the source is good then great, but if your sharing then why not share all the info? Otherwise sometimes it can be construed as i know something you dont so there, thankfully most on here dont come across like that

SOUTHEND United are interested in signing former Leyton Orient winger Jordan Maguire-Drew, Echosport understands.

Help with Echo links

Now that's an interesting one to be linked to.

Has had success at this level before (scored 14 goals from the right wing whilst on loan at Dagenham in 2016/17) and at 23 has upside.

Some suggestions that his attitude wasn't quite right but stepping back down to non-league might be the wake up call he needs.

Has played approximately 150 games between L2 and National League so in that sweet spot of having first team experience but still upside.

Yet another ex-Crawley one!

Been told by an orient fan he’s an enigma…there’s definitely a good player there but maybe not as good as he thinks he is….also has fallen out with managers before….could be fun

Think this signing is only being considered to bump up our double barrelled surname quota.

From what I’ve heard, he’s very much one of those that has the ability for a higher level but maybe not the temperament to go with it. He could be a very shrewd signing and probably the creative sort of player we need to add to the squad.
