A Bit of Fun Transfer Rumours Thread (Potential New Signings)

Timlin has joined Dulwich Hamlet, so this might open the door for JD in a coaching player role?

There's no player coaching role available.

Ian Hendon has been appointed first team coach, Reece Otley as keeper coach and they've opted not to appoint an u23 manager to replace Fagan.

The only first team staff role unfilled is now that of First Team Analyst.

(There are probably some academy roles going spare but these won't be compatible with being a first team squad member)

Lennon has more than a mountain to climb in order to earn any ounce of respect from me as a fan and I'm sure I speak for plenty of others too. He is quite possibly the epitomy of our downfall. Overpaid, overrated, underappreciative of the club and unfit.

Why we have even considered retaining this guy is beyond me. We make some good moves in the market and then we get info like this.

Again i will repeat, why are we bothering with players like lennon, halford and dieng...... get them gone and bring in new players! Sufc need fresh blood not previous players who are injury prone and poor.

Moley has gone quiet for a while now… last one was Jake Hyde has he failed on one ….. mmmmm let’s hope not he would be good for us!!

Jake Hyde is still bubbling away.

Transfers aren’t as “easy” as they are in computers games, and especially with all these restrictions in place, it has made things even more difficult. Players have gone on holiday to “amber” countries and had to isolate on their return, players have been deemed “close contacts” of positive cases and players have tested positive too. All of these things make these long, drawn out processes even longer and more difficult.

PB and his crew, have been working round the clock, travelling 100s of miles, spending hours upon hours on the phone, and working outside of “normal” office hours (one of our completed deals was signed and sealed over a weekend) to improve the squad.

I heard, over the weekend, one of our targets signed for another NL Club, for £3000 per week. We aren’t splashing the cash, and we aren’t being tight with it.

Ok weird I know but I think I would prefer Lennon on the left hand side of a back 3 with Ralph in front rather than Current possibilities

Lennon Very capable in back 4 or at left back

I dont know if its true that Coulson has the turning ability of a tanker with a sail but we know Harry is./was our quickest player.. He can certainly head the ball at 6.3" and is just 26 years old

So much depends on that injury record and his recovery and fitness. I dont know if he is significantly injury prone linked to his own actions partly , or one of the unluckiest players on the planet, Admittedly a total of 92 appearance's in 8 years is a staggering statistic and only 39 for us in 3 seasons

However we know that he attempted to play on with a BROKEN LEG from that awful injury against Bolton , Subsequent to that in 20/21 came the double blow of the knee and calf injury, which necessitated a double operation. Moseley wanted him back and hoped he could make it before the end of the season and Harry he was reported as working hard to do so

Then we got the news of a couple of steps back for gym strengthening post the double op, So would love to see him on trial and in action, for his own physical and Mental Health and well being

The Dover incident was silly and ill thought out. Made to make a public apology and play in the Under 23s followed, so as a young man, we can only trust in a Lesson Learned, but hardly a Ranger comparison is it, although some appear to see it as worse

Bang on.

How anyone can honestly say they want this Charlaton next season is beyond me. He brings **** all to the table except his non stop injuries and couldn’t care less about our club.

I’m annoyed that they are actudlly wanting to keep him unless it’s all smoking mirrors and we are playing some sort of game.

On paper he should be great but even when fit he seems to sabotage his strength and pace with poor concentration and positional sense unfortunately. I used to hope for a lot from him but hard to now.

he was superb for us for a bit last season. But the problem has always been injuries. I can see why Brown wants him, but also why he'd want to not pay much. If a deal can be done that Brown is happy with i'm down with that. Be surprised if he found another full time gig with his injury history, but fair play if he does

I’m staggered we’re even entertaining the idea of keeping Lennon. Absolutely bizarre.

Might well be because we are in the NL and not offering enough money. At least two other CB's I know of have turned us down for teams that Shrimpers will expect to finish higher than.

Indeed. The number of games played is a bit of a red herring. Until with us he was a peripheral player at a higher league club. Whilst with us the impact injuries are unlucky, and he was certainly asked to play injured and did, and to put off an operation which he did. Invariably playing injured also leads to other problems. I think his injury situation is more White than Hyam tbh but the club should have good insight. I think the Dover incident still colours the view from some- in pure footballing terms if we think he will be fit, and at the right salary, the question once again is how easy it would be to recruit someone as good or better? It goes back to wanting the best possible squad we can assemble with our budget and that brings compromises.
