Last time I saw an orient fan I was in their end celebrating a Southend goal with the famous Barry the dog , I agree we didn’t do much talking but I feel even then they got the jist , there was only on conversation we were having that day

Known my Orient-supporting mate since Year 7 at WHSB. His old man took us both to our game at their place in 2000/01. I had to sit in the home stand and suppress the cheers when Ben Abbey scored x2.

We then had an argument in Monday morning registration over it which resulted in me pushing him backwards over his chair, and us both getting an after school detention where we were both told to keep our football rivalry out of the classroom.

Still mates though, and I trust his balanced view on Moncur, as he's usually a bit more nuanced than "his attitude is ****, take him".

I went to school with an Orient fan from Year 7 too but he was a ****, so you lucked out.

That sort of reminds me of a conversation I had with an Orient supporting mate when we signed Ricky Otto. He used phrases like
"Luxury player", "Doesn't give 100%" and "Only plays 1 game in 3".
Those of us old enough to remember will know what a great player he was for us. He'd probably get in an all time SUFC XI.

Who was the Orient fan who used to post on here quite regularly. IIRC, fair and friendly and sometiimes self-mocking. Don't know how long ago that was, for me, time seems to pass so quickly...........it could be five months or five years ago!

Okay.. yes.. but you have to admit the tactics put in place yesterday were never going to win a game? From the outset were defending and relying on a lucky opportunity, that even if we do get, we’re missing them anyways.

We’re a few players short, but you’ve left the most creative player on the bench and play out from a 3 at the back, you’re already making your bed at that point.

And how many clear cut chances did we miss ? More than enough to win the game I would say.
