Iā€™d say, if we brought in another goalkeeper (potentially the lad from Arsenal), Wind, Pedder & Tshimanga on top of deals already done for Gubbins & Walker, weā€™d have had excellent summers worth of business, considering how far behind we started and the top targets we missed out on.
This suggests youā€™re more confident in Tshimanga than some reports suggest. Iā€™ll take that confidence.

You willing to share? šŸ˜‚

I can share a couple, but some names may reappear on the whiteboard so donā€™t want to name all of them.

Jack Sims at Braintree, Harrison Male at Dorking, Pearce and Felix (RWB) at Worthing, Stephen Duke-McKenna, Omar Mussa, the Chelmsford centre half who signed for Aldershot whose name escapes me at the moment.

Pedder has to be more than an orange surely? Heā€™s actually training with the club and was invited on tour.

Luke Jenkins

Having four options up front of Cardwell, Waldron, Walker and Tshimanga would be insanely good. 3 out of those 4 more than know where the back of the net is at NL and Waldron at NLN. All 26 or 27 years old, so in their prime.

What weā€™d have done for options like that in our League 2 relegation season when we couldnā€™t hit a cowā€™s arse with a banjo.

Luke Jenkins

Luke Jenkins, thatā€™s the fella.

Gubbins and Walker were both top targets, so not all doom and gloom.

Also, centre half who was released by Col Ewe Dallison, who signed for Ebbsfleet. But he was a back up target incase we couldnā€™t get Gubbins.

There are loads of names that have come off the whiteboard. Some we missed out because of the embargo, some are/were after silly money, some didnā€™t want to come, some were back up targets if we secured another target and so forth.

So in short those that matter know what their doing when it comes to recruitment and if something can be done it will be! Can we really ask for anything more. Thanks as always for your posts, appreciated šŸ‘

I thought the Tshimanga deal had cooled right down, purely down to finances. Hope it can be resolved.

Pedder looks a good bet to get a deal.

The Billericay lad seems a done deal and will keep GSM on his toes.

Yes, we have the right people in the right places. They are incredibly professional and incredibly thorough, which hasnā€™t always been the case.

Just spoke with a Billericay Town friend and he said George Wind was missing from the squad last night and news was that he is set to sign for a NL side. So looks good
I be shocked if he end up any other NL clubs than Southend, especially we are his local side, plus he be closer to home and his familyā€™s, which is important.

Really? Saw him at Great Wakering, who are four levels below us and at Bishopā€™s Stortford, who are two levels below us.

The gap looked greater between him and Gus (admittedly one of our better players) than between him and Wakering.

Then against players two divisions lower at Stortford he didnā€™t stand out as superior to them.

He doesnā€™t appear to offer any positional versatility (he played LWB long enough to see thatā€™s not realistic), seemed an unremarkable athlete (small, didnā€™t demonstrate pace) and is already 23 years old so limited projectability, especially as he looked fairly well coached so youā€™re not going to get much more out of him by coaching him up.

If I had to categorise him Iā€™d say maybe low end NLNor S/high end Isthmian Prem?

Wouldnā€™t be an upgrade IMO over Leon Davies who we released two(?) years ago.
Agree 100 % with this
