Especially as we'd be getting him on a permanent. As much as I love the Moncur signing, there is that bit in me that worries if he does well, he'll be off sooner than the season loan we have him for. At least Bonne would be our player.

I look at it the other way - they are older players, so there's little chance of selling on for a premium. As such with Moncur we get him for a season and we aren't stuck with his wages after that. Better that than having taken him for 2-3 years and then finding we want rid when the honeymoon period is over, but being unable to make that happen.

If it's true that Braintree have overreached with their finances is there any likelihood of Powell coming back, his pressing has been missed.

Heard from Powell he was looking at a move this week but not back to us.
