Transfer News and Gossip Transfer Rumours Thread 2024/25 - Time to Cook 👨‍🍳

Transfer news
Yo've supported Southend for a while yes? You're aware that, in a world with precious little legitimate news about the club, the Echo actually printing an article like this naming both the player and the blub implies that there is probably more to it than interest.

Do you think Forrest Green phoned up Chris Phillips to let him know they were interested?
We’ve had the exact same with Cardwell and Exeter and Bridge and Notss county etc… the only difference is this release clause

I believe Cardwell is pretty happy here, but if they get to the point they’re allowed to talk to him I suspect they might be able to double his money..

Shambles if we lose Cardwell and Kensdale whatever the circumstances. Maybe we all got caught up a bit in takeover bliss thinking it was going to be easy running, but we could end up struggling at this rate!

Keenan Appiah-Forson looks like he’d be a good signing on paper. Good age (22), unfortunate pedigree but hopefully we can teach him how to play.

Didn’t play much at first at Daggers but came on Boxing Day against Eastleigh with the game 1-1 and scored within 2 minutes. From that point on he started every game for Dagenham (who were a relatively free scoring side for those complaining about Maher signing another negative player - they put 4 past Eastleigh twice and Maidenhead once and seven past Oxford).

Looks like he has the ability to beat a man and pick a forward pass. For all the wailing and gnashing of teeth about lack of an attacking midfielder I think we’ve struggled to progress the ball between the lines. A defensive midfielder who drops back to pick the ball up from the defence and find a fellow midfielder could be the key to getting us playing.

Having a young player with the proven durability to play 20+ consecutive games in this division is a very useful tick.

Losing Cardwell and Kensdale though in the same week would be a dark week for Maher. They’ve been the spine of his team along with Miley, who may or may not be out injured.
