Bloody hell, you lot moan about the same thing over and over, change the record! We have a rumour and a decent little player at that. Give the guy a chance. Most of you moaned about Bim, now you talk about him like the second coming.
Isn't it great we have a such versatile group of members who have opinions with everything, That is what makes a forum great. DEBATE, not all agreeing on one thing. The irony of moaners moaning about moaners is not lost on me. :Winking:
This is SZ May I remind you 🤣🤣🤣
Yup and long may it continue with all members opinions and points of view, whatever they are.

Talk of we don't need a striker we need a midfielder - maybe we need both, you don't just work on one thing at a time.

Long term projects - you can't fill the squad with long term projects - as that harms the short term results. A mix is what's needed, one or 2 long term projects per season, a few experienced heads for the now/next 12 mths, and the rump of the squad that is already under contract.

Hopper would be ok till end of season to see how that goes. Agree with others that I would like to see midfielders and a LWB come in who all have a combination of pace power and creativity between them

totally get the clamour for recruiting young talent from lower down but we have a lot of that type already. Eventually you end up with mostly a team of lower league players with lower league fitness and skillsets which isn't far off what we are already watching. That's if they can make the transition to full time fitness levels.
Feel some wiser stronger physical leader types would do us the world of good currently.
The above types and a loan or two of prem u23 players who have the fitness speed and skill and need to gain some experience
Not quite that young anymore our squad ,I would suggest with an average age now hitting 26. In fact 12 clubs have a younger profile age range in their squad than us . We have moved away from the original model proposed by Stan it seems, I think we need more youthful energy, like Pepple given our lack of pace. But that extra experience could well count if backed up with other signings

However I feel a bit mixed on this one at the moment but know we should all give Tom the benefit of the doubt until we see him underway

I hope Zoners will remember just how good he was for us in his 2 year spell from 2018 to 2020. We were so sick when he left and he was also bought by Lincoln or an undisclosed fee.
9 goals in 28 games for us. We loved his brave and intelligent performances
Yes he is 31 and as ITK states brings considerable experience and a physical presence. Hes not exactly tiny at 6.1" and I remember just how well he did defensively at set pieces

His current record over the past 6 years goalscoring wise is 1 in 6..6,. I think, i.e. 30 goals in 196 appearances, comfortably better than our present lot . Even further back 54 goals in 311, despite those significant injuries some while ago

His current injury record is not that bad at all as figures above show

So if he is coming in welcome back Tom and give him a rousing reception Homecoming reception

Heard it on the grapevine that Kev’s biggest issue with KAF is that he’s not from Afghanistan and called Noor Husin.
I know above is a joke.

I suspect the KAF issue might be quality of first touch and his tendency to give the ball away in dangerous areas. That said he has scored a couple of goals and I've stuck him in my team against daggers - but I'm not sure he's the answer.

I'm pro Hopper coming back. Tenacious, holds the ball up well, physical and really embodies a lot of what we've been missing up top post-Cardwell. I think he can be a real asset in games that are stretched and at times where we need to go a little more direct, which in turn should really benefit Kendall and Walker. As others have said, we're crying out for a creative midfielder to link the play to our forwards. Difficult as it not only requires us to get one through the door, but also for Kev to allow said player to play with freedom.

A centre back too don't you think ? Maybe our out of form midfielders (Miley, Husin and Bridge) would step back up a level with a convincing back line behind them. Golding maybe a part answer for a few months but even then we could do with another (leader) to cover the other two (Crowther and Gubbins) who really don't look up to it. Three strong signings this window minimum to save this season. Loanees or whatever.

I don't think on paper Hopper is a bad move. The issue I have is given how inactive we've been in recruiting the first player in January needed to be a sign of intent or a sign of what the data is driving.

Signing a 31 year old former player who lives in Leigh doesn't hit those heights.

I’m not sure he is either in all honesty. And I always thought he was a bit of a panic signing which is another reason why Kev might be reluctant to play him over players who were actively scouted and targeted to fit his style.

It’s just frustrating wondering how many poor performances we need to witness from seemingly the ‘favourites’ before things get shaken up.

Maybe - my point is you don't just work on one possible transfer at a time (unless of course you're only looking for 1 player), no 1 priority might be a CAM, but you don't ignore that you also need a CB or a striker or any other position.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but it is becoming unreadable. Constantly having to skip over the same issue and comment on every thread.

I come on to look at transfer rumours for example, not hear how the same people think Maher plays sideways football.

For the record I am happy for people to have differing opinions but they don’t need to be voiced on every single thread.
