Don't need to know names...any idea of positions? There’s definitely a chance. Talks are ongoing. Wouldn’t put a % on it though

Well its obvious we need someone who can play down the middle, bring others into the game, provide arial threat and works the press. And at NL level likely to score a bit more readily. I think we were close to signing him before the Cowleys came in, but that possibility disappeared as the Cowleys rated him highly? 31 though. Anyway probably a co-incidence.Yes I was just going to come on here and say the same thing, he is probably one of the players who was told by Danny he wouldn’t be getting a new contract. He is such a hard worker who I know the Cowley’s rate highly, but sadly he doesn't score enough goals. I could see him being a player who wins the headers to enable players like Bonne to bang in the knockdowns.
We wont be getting someone from the EFL that scores regularly. We want "value" and forwards from a higher level who score normally offer the opposite..'he doesn't score enough goals.'
Perfect fit then.
Obviously some substance to this.
I really f*cking hope not. Club should have learnt its lesson after signing Bonne. At this level we need young and hungry players with their best years ahead of them.A bit more on Hopper…..could it be us?
TRANSFER WINDOW: Tom Hopper looks set for Colchester exit after talks take place
Tom Hopper set for move away from Colchester United in transfer windowwww.gazette-news.co.uk
No, but if (and that's not saying we are, it's just an "if") we're now treading water until next season then he might well fit the bill with a contract to the end of the season. Personally I doubt he or us would go for that, but stranger things have happened.Hopper wouldn't fit the long term ethos. Plus what's the fascination with Ex players ? he was half decent 5 years ago, plus he's injury prone and into his 30's. Let's move on.
Tom is a very good footballer he has been played quite deep here much of the time, he works so hard but because his goalscoring is not very high the fans give him a hard time. With Tom played up front using his aerial presence you may well see a very different Macauley Bonne, I hope if he comes back to you he does well. He might be 31 but rarely gets injured, he has no real pace but is a menace to the opposition because he gives them little peace!Well its obvious we need someone who can play down the middle, bring others into the game, provide arial threat and works the press. 5 goals in 68 league matches over the last 3 seasons. If the club are applying their data driven analysis to potential transfers I fail to see how he would pass that criteria.Hopper wouldn't fit the long term ethos. Looknofurther than Matt JayNeed an attacking playmaker more really
He has a contract here until the end of the season, I think he will be looking for longer than that, when he arrived here it was 2.5 years, I feel he will be looking for similar or at least 18 months. No, but if (and that's not saying we are, it's just an "if") we're now treading water until next season then he might well fit the bill with a contract to the end of the season.
