Maybe optimistic but I figure it helps, being a Shrimper.

Or at Wycombe Wanderers talking about their vacant position.Any chance King Kev wasn’t at the pre match interviews because he was working on a signing or two?
Players can be sign with view to development, but in terms of the more 'established' players or young players from the Premier or Championship on loan aren't going to signed to just sit on the bench. Would be a waste of budget,
I'd rather wait two weeks extra to sign a quality player then jump the gun and sign someone who isn't going to make the team significantly better and waste budget.
Three, not two, loans recalled (Moncur, Jeacock, Pepple)I’d be pretty disappointed if we haven’t signed anyone before the Boston game. We’ve had two of loans recalled. Yes the Jeacock one wasn’t a starter but if Collin gets injured we are pretty stuffed. It’s a bonus that Walker’s injury isn’t as bad and he could be available. However, is he worth risking?
So many on here were shot down at the lack of activity and told to wait until January. Well we are nearly half way through and still no signings.

Forgot about Moncur, he was pretty forgettable after his first two appearances.Three, not two, loans recalled (Moncur, Jeacock, Pepple)
Fonguck did that for us last season (admittedly only about 1 in 5 balls actually worked but at least he tried to find a killer pass), we haven't really replaced him with anyone willing to take a similar risk. I'd guess Moncur was meant to fill that role but it didn't work out.I appreciate that this is off topic but as most of the posts on here are I’ll keep it going. I wonder if part of the frustration and constant yells for the ball to go forward are that many of us are from an age where football was played differently, especially at lower leagues and now everyone is playing a different style (playing out from the back, going backwards a lot of the time and switching play across the back line). Watching Liverpool closely last week they were doing the same. The obvious difference is that they then turn the possession into an incisive pass that creates sudden pace and attacking threat. We seem to lack purpose, the vision for the pass and sensible runners in the attacking third. We clearly can’t be Liverpool but it does seem that the creativity we’ve been calling for in midfield could be the game changer.
So did II thought you was going to mention squad sizes again
This kind of thing happens at training grounds far more often than you'd think. A handshake may well have followed once everyone had calmed down and it may now be forgotten about. That's Dieseruvwe having the nut stuck on him earlier this week at the Pools training ground. We could offer him a home with a more appreciative set of team mates lol.
