TBF Moncur actually had quite a few shots when with us but all of them were **** or off target. I remember thinking on more than one occasion that I expected more from him in that dept especially. He could have scored a few for us with more composure and accuracy. Think his one today was a free kick outside the box

So come on guys let's get real here, a senior pro who has played at higher level and is of obvious strong independent character, is really only going to shoot to order and 'allows' himself to be stifled by the Coach? The real issue here was he couldn't or wouldn't adapt, he was unable or unwilling to be anything on the pitch other than a maverick player with a free role and no doubt Wright will accommodate this and he will be perceived and arguably will be the stand out player in a poor team.

Moncur's whole issue was that he wouldn't be allowed to play in the true 10 role, our system simply doesn't allow for that. Adapting to a new role never seemed an option for him.

He's never played in LCM or RCM in his entire career and obviously struggled with it, as we saw.

He's like an older version of Bim Pepple, the way he plays, and a perfect replacement. Would be great, but can't see it as he starts most games for York, and would cost a hefty fee, even if they did let him go.

Moncs is better as a number 10. Forget defensive duties. As with Jack Payne back in the day we had a player who we could get the best out of because of how we’re set up.

Ag our level in the right team he was always going to be a threat.

Exactly. Regardless of the excuse it's still really poor signing either way which the manager takes responsibility for! He might not have been he's first choice but he still picked him. How many managers get their first choice players all the time unless your at Man City, Real Madrid or Bayern?

Yes you most certainly could, I think it was on paper the best of Hobsons choice at the time and I think the expectation among the coaching team was there was enough ability and football intelligence in the player to still do a job but as you say it didn't work.

It's the type of signing someone like Barnet would make. Hope we can get him as could have something about him
