That’s how we ended up with Moncur. This is getting boring now. Can we sign someone please. Dont even care who it is now. Seeing all these other clubs signing players is so depressing!

Or the fact that most of our crosses come in after the opposition has been given an age to get set (I.e. too slow, easy to defend), or fails to beat the first man, or is ballooned over the top or out of play etc. etc.
It not necessarily just about getting on the end of flick ons it’s about putting the opposition under pressure- that can be chasing the flick on and putting the defender under pressure winning an advanced throw, or if the defender wins the initial header picking up the second ball again in a advanced position.
Would be great if the target man could bring it down as well- let’s sign that man!
Actually at our level it’s quite a large percentage play taking the above also into consideration. Should at least give as much possession deep in the opposition half as knocking it backwards and sideways as 1. At this level the quality to retain possession and be progressive is limited 2. The longer more direct approach can take the opposition midfield out of play where with a laboured build up they get everyone behind the ball?
But it not so simple -we could both argue that with the right players and approach either way will be very successful. And you can play both options at the same time (I.e. in the same game to varying degrees according to the opponent). At the moment neither way is overly successful which is why we need to bring the right players in?
Indeed. He understands the philosophy, but would like us to look forward more often. As he says, there's nothing wrong with holding on to the ball and keeping possession, but sometimes you just have to be a bit braver on the ball, and not always play the simple pass.Paul Clark is also frustrated with our 3-5-2. He thinks its ok providing but we must do it better, By that he means be more confident about playing the ball FORWARD
We would do it better of we were able to carry the ball forward like Kensdale used to. May have part of the answer in Golding, we will see on Saturday.Paul Clark is also frustrated with our 3-5-2. We could certainly do with a Barry Corr but don’t think it’s right to say Bonne only flicks on. I can definitely recall a number of times Bonne laying off intelligent headers for others. Even in the game when Walker went of injured I remember him setting up Bridge as his emergency strike partner on the edge of the box. If anything I say that flick ons were a weakness as he’ll often jump and nor judge it so he misses the flick. To win second ball you want to be heading back and down, not flick it on like Bonne.
This team needs a Barry Corr but then every team needs a Barry Corr.
As I say re second ball you can either get on the end of the flick on or win an attacking throw by putting the subsequent defender under pressure? To win second ball you want to be heading back and down, not flick it on like Bonne.

I would suggests nothing lays bare the quality of service than that…. RegrettablyOur last headed goal came from K.A.F. I think.
Before that Crowther? Away at Halifax?
Not to mention pulling out wide and receiving the ball. The cross he put in that nearly led to a goal for Kendall (on his debut I believe) was sublime, unlike the poor effort that was far too hard and too far in front of Bonne by Bridge recently. We could certainly do with a Barry Corr but don’t think it’s right to say Bonne only flicks on. In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is King.Must account for all those "headed goals " he has scored so far.
We put absolutely loads of crosses in last year. Nowhere near as many this year. That means fewer goals.Or the fact that most of our crosses come in after the opposition has been given an age to get set (I.e. too slow, easy to defend), or fails to beat the first man, or is ballooned over the top or out of play etc. etc. There may be a stat that says we put a lot of crosses in- but the quality and timing is often very poor. In short I think the consensus is the service is very poor- now which is easier- find a forward like Pepple who can create and finish all on his own? Significantly improve the quality of the service so all of the forwards can be more successful? Or no doubt both please?
That was one of the favourite phrases of Jude Bellingham’s grandad when he taught me French at SHSB!In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is King.
Deep sigh followed by yawn !Could there be any new signings before Saturday's game?
Maher: "Possibly. I don't think we'll ever say no because we're working on stuff.
"It's not always the easiest thing to do, especially in the areas we're looking at.
"A lot of things have to go into it before we can make signings."
