Wages, as before, could be a big problem. Quigley is probably on similar money to Harry Cardwell at FGR.Wouldn’t be surprised if we’re sniffing around Joe Quigley again.

I don't think any of us predicted Pepple either, so I'd be happy to not be able to see who else we could get.I’d take cards back all day long can’t see who else we could get
That explains why he'd only played 6 games. Thought that was weird. He was class last season.Dinanga’s out for the season
You’re right in that we shouldn’t just be looking at strikers as we’re very light on creative midfielders and we’re not getting enough contributions from that area. It was always a worry relying heavily on a loan player. From my understanding, the transfer committee is spread out all over the world and getting permission to sign players is now taking way longer than before.
KM and his team are constantly looking to improve the squad, but despite being way under budget, signings aren't being approved
We've now lost our top goal scorer who was a working project and also cheap as chips
A replacement that will deliver the same impact on the pitch will require 4x what he cost.
We need a like for like replacement, or we need to.stop.playing direct and sign players who can move the ball and carry us up the pitch.
But for what we paid Bim ... This isn't happening.
Buckle up Shrimpers ... I think we are in for a long one
Last year after signing Richard Kone from the Essex Senior League, Wycombe have signed another player for our region, Ryan Cole a left back from Newmarket who has scored 6 goals from left back in the Isthmian North.
Annoying that we aren’t able to pounce on these players especially from leagues within our region.
Jake Tabor is still available at Amersham. He liked my tweet recently about saying that we should have a look at him.
Their chairman must spend a small fortune on that club, I know I can't boast about our (Colchester) attendances, but last night there was 1038 at FGR including 19 from the Daggers!Wages, as before, could be a big problem. Quigley is probably on similar money to Harry Cardwell at FGR.
It's mad because the topic is all about sustainability for us but how on earth are they sustainable? It's literally just one bloke spending his money. If he leaves, they'll be screwed. It's funny because quite a few (they don't have many) of their fans were really moaning about him last year. I was thinking be careful what you wish for, because if he goes, good luck.Their chairman must spend a small fortune on that club, I know I can't boast about our (Colchester) attendances, but last night there was 1038 at FGR including19 from the Daggers!
Kev wants to win the FA Trophy aswellYou’re right in that we shouldn’t just be looking at strikers as we’re very light on creative midfielders and we’re not getting enough contributions from that area. It was always a worry relying heavily on a loan player.
This transfer window is huge for Kev and it’s a real concern if he’s not getting who he wants in. We badly need reinforcements if the season isn’t going to end with a whimper (maybe that’s the accepted option but I doubt Maher subscribes to that. Surely the coaching staff & players want to finish as high up the table as possible).
Which is funny as he advocates building a sustainable club (natural resources and all that), but chucking money in like he does is very unsustainable!Their chairman must spend a small fortune on that club, I know I can't boast about our (Colchester) attendances, but last night there was 1038 at FGR including 19 from the Daggers!
What we’re missing is a target man. You’re right in that we shouldn’t just be looking at strikers as we’re very light on creative midfielders and we’re not getting enough contributions from that area. It was always a worry relying heavily on a loan player.

Interesting. This would cause problems. I think the positive we have is that everyone involved wants to do the best for the club - which gives a good opportunity to get to a better model. From my understanding, the transfer committee is spread out all over the world and getting permission to sign players is now taking way longer than before.

I really hope we have some targets lined up for if Bim left. Not doing so just smacks of incompetenceFrom my understanding, the transfer committee is spread out all over the world and getting permission to sign players is now taking way longer than before.

Sideways? More backwards?Maher will pass it sideways to Tom who will kick it out for a throw to play it safe.
Exactly what I was thinking. It’s not like we’re delivering a wax stamped letter of transfer targets to New Zealand by boat.I can't see why having COSU members/ transfer ctte member situated across the globe creates an issue. Nowadays people use "email" to communicate or even "what's app". There's even telephones if you are really desperate
I'll probably get stick for this but the only player we currently have that could possibly work as a target man is Bonne, When we were away to Woking and playing 4-3-3 he was winning everything in the air and we looked dangerous. Miley sent off, Pepple substituted and Walker moved to midfield and he was all on his own, totally ineffective. We got a clean sheet though! Some achievement against the mighty Woking. What we’re missing is a target man.
If Pepple has been recalled we currently don’t have a NL standard targetman. Someone who offers us an outlet that allows us to go long and who will bring the ball down and retain possession.
We currently have one NL standard forward available in Kendall and he isn’t big enough to lead the line.
We have NL standard midfielders but they need forwards to play off. If you want your midfielders to look creative you need to give them a targetman up front to play off. Without that they’ll look less effective.
