.......So, any transfer rumours?
You've come to the wrong place for those mate
.......So, any transfer rumours?
I think you're 100% out. Wasn't it a pound for the stadium and a pound for the club. They also got the club, a training ground and soon to be stadium for a £1.
Doesn’t seem so but that doesn’t mean stuff isn’t going on behind the scenes. It appears any previous leaks from inside the club have been pretty well plugged........So, any transfer rumours?
And York, FGR etc are all profit making I supposeAll of which are loss making.
Currently.

I was told by a member of the hierarchy on the day of the clean up that the safety license had already been secured but the club thought it a nice thing for fans to do who had already committed to help. Cynics will suggest “cheap labour” but having been involved in the last couple of years I think it’s a good initiative. Unlikely to happen again I suspect. Both have modern facilities and didn’t need approx 200 supporters to give up their own free time to help meet health & safety requirements relatively recently.
I still think some supporters have their heads in the sand as to just how bad things were under the previous owner.
Guessing in so far as Dagenham are concerned looking for a new management probably Justham on the back burner until that is resolvedAre there any transfer rumours? Justham etc?
Importantly, they also have extremely wealthy owners who are happy to chuck money at it whatever the consequences down the line. Not sure the reliance on one person for a totally unsustainable business model is a method we want to return toBoth have modern facilities and didn’t need approx 200 supporters to give up their own free time to help meet health & safety requirements relatively recently.

That last bit would make sense if we weren’t in the National League where we aren’t restricted to the two main transfer windows.I suppose it’s not really a surprise with how fickle football fans are but we are only half way through the first season and the narrative has changed from we just want to have a sustainable club to why aren’t we matching the biggest spenders who are reliant on a wealthy chairman. The most impatient should be COSU who are in it for significant sums but it’s us fans who forget we’ve not even had a single window under the new regime yet.

Probably money that would make little difference to Luton given their parachute payments and would be difficult to balance our books with.Wigan’s 21 year-old striker Josh Stones (contracted until 2026) has just moved to York for an undisclosed fee, rumoured to be £350k. He scored 7 goals in 10 appearances on loan at Oldham in the NL.
If that’s a potential benchmark fee wise, how much would 22 year-old Bim Pepple (contract up in the summer) with 7 goals in 19 NL appearances likely cost if we were going to try and do a deal in January?
He’s under 23, so unless they didn’t offer him a new deal, they’d still be due a fee in the summer. But if Bim isn’t keen on signing a new deal if he thinks opportunities will be limited etc. then it might make sense for them to get round the negotiating table now?
All things considered, would £150k with a sell on clause be realistic?
That was my worry too. I feel like COSU might’ve been keen if the fee was half that. We’ve got the Cardwell money, but aren’t exactly in a position to reinvest it. We could spend £150k and sell him in a couple of seasons time for 3 times that. Equally, we could spend £150k, see him pick up a serious injury and not return as anywhere near the same player. Would love us to get him, but feel like it might be a gamble the finances don’t allow at this moment in time.Probably money that would make little difference to Luton given their parachute payments and would be difficult to balance our books with.
No a chance we will pay £150k for him or any other player imoWigan’s 21 year-old striker Josh Stones (contracted until 2026) has just moved to York for an undisclosed fee, rumoured to be £350k. He scored 7 goals in 10 appearances on loan at Oldham in the NL.

I understand your logic but I firmly believe we are shopping in pound land. That was my worry too. I feel like COSU might’ve been keen if the fee was half that.
