Transfer News and Gossip Transfer Rumours Thread 2024/2025.

Transfer news
We did in the 2-0 win over Halifax. Both Coker and Moncur started that game. Problem is, Moncur isn't the long-term answer. We don't have a long-term answer yet and is why Husin plays so often. As soon as we get a Wes replacement that can actually play that role effectively, he will continue to do so.

When Miley plays, we can play with two attack-minded number 8's. Miley is now back to form and match sharp. That midfield will get better.
Pretty sure Fonguck and Coker started plenty of games together last season or I may be wrong. There's a myth this management team doesn't like attack-minded players. What they don't like is players who don't work hard off the ball. You need to be able to do both.

Agreed with this. Never thought Husin was an off the ball runner hence hes always played better as the central cm when Miley and Morton have been missing.

My only concern with Cardwell potentially coming back would be injuries. He had quite a lot of injuries before leaving us and where he hasnt played much in recent months would this not make him more likely to get niggles etc going forward?
He played very regularly last season, 90 minutes in all 5 games for us before he went this. Actually even though it’s Jan, 450 out of his 955 league minutes this season have been with us!!!!

He is a player who needs to be playing regularly and when he is avoids injury, and putting 90 mins doesn’t seem to be a problem. I think being used like FGR are suits him far less. My observation FWIW anyway.

If Bonne were to go then it would be poor Kendall getting the chants from “supporters” (no goals in 14) then if Cardwell came back (no goals since mid Oct) no doubt we would move quickly on to him (not the player he was etc…).

We have Collin, top for clean sheets in the NL in 2024 and second in our all time list for clean sheets against games played. For many even that isn’t good enough. But its interesting scoring goals is everything for a striker, yet not letting them in not so for a goalkeeper??
You are spot on. Wood has gone out on loan, Moncur appears to be on his way, get rid of Bonne, drop Bridge and we would have a lot of supporters seriously worried where their next scapegoat is coming from….

Feeling sorry for George Wind

2 MOM performances out of 3. Not sure how splinter BUTT is progressing his development. Is it really going to be down to Gus being transferred out, for him to get a game , or should we allow George significant game time elsewhere, , maybe an end of season loan swap ? Hes pretty good and needs opportunities, Training and good coaching may not be enough as many a professional has confirmed

Bridge isn’t a scapegoat, he just hasn’t had a very good season. It’s not unreasonable to suggest we need to look at getting another LWB in. If anything it might improve Bridge’s performances if he actually has some competition for his place.

With respect to Bonne, he does make himself known when on the pitch

I can't remember any moment when Waldron has looked that impactful when coming on.

If Bonne can get a goal, I think he practically be a new signing between now and the end of the season
Bonne is a couple of goals away from being a decent player for us, if he wasn’t on 0 I think he’d be fairly well liked due to the work he does.

I reckon he’ll start on Saturday or if not come on for a significant chunk of the game.

Osman Foyo is apparently expected to go back to Ipswich after a very successful loan period at Chelmsford City where he is leading scorer. Would love to see him on loan with us as he could easily play at this level.

Add Morton to this as well. Been excellent this past few months but bizarrely dropped to the bench for no reason other than Kev has his favs in Husin and Miley. Miley i can understand and he has improved a lot this past few games and looks fitter and more like himself. But im failing to see what Husin is offering that Morton wasnt. Last night Husin went round in circles at one point and on numerous occasions slowed the game down. What Morton offers is quick passing and interchaging especially with Coker and alwasy looks to keep the ball moving something that Husin hasnt been doing
