Transfer News and Gossip Transfer Rumours Thread 2024/2025.

Transfer news
Tbh Barry.C i was right behind the goal when Bonne was put through in their box last night, he was offside but no way could he have known that as it wasnt given straight away. Anyway, he latched onto the ball but you could see the defender closed the space really quickly, can he get his shot off here i wondered?

He dragged the ball to the side of the defender and i thought oh wow thats quality under pressure, then came the shot with the whole goal gaping, just the keeper to beat, this has to be the day i saw Bonne score, but he smashes it straight at the goalie.

I dont think its going to happen with us, shame but..

My only concern with Cardwell potentially coming back would be injuries. He had quite a lot of injuries before leaving us and where he hasnt played much in recent months would this not make him more likely to get niggles etc going forward?

There's a huge difference though, he spent most of his time with Southend being the only striker, or one of two. That meant he had to play through niggles until they became bigger problems for him.

We've now got more upfront which means he can be rested for shorter periods, keeping those longer term injuries at bay.

Personally, I'm not sure the move is likely to materialise (no inside info, just gut feeling) but I suppose stranger things have happened.

With Walker's potentially longer term injury I don't see us loaning out Waldron now. If the injury is bad enough we will need to sign another striker as cover in case Pepple is sent back as well.
I thought we were also after a step 2 striker so maybe Waldron may still be off

Where has this Cardwell to return rumour come from? Is it as a loan or permanent? Personally I’d love to see him back, was absolute class for us before and his addition to our squad can only improve its quality.

I would guess a loan who knows .. as I reckon he’s on fair bit more from when he was with us first time around

Out of the club? Free up some money and invest in the players hinted at now the EFL window is open?
Would be the opposite of freeing up money as would have to pay up his contract. Some players may mutually agree to leave for a smaller % of what they are owed if they have something else lined up, but its unlikely.

I dont mind Bonne. He just needs a goal and we need to figure out some service for him. He's asbolutely in the right place in the hierachy at the moment, 4th striker behind Kendall, Pepple, Walker.

If Bonne were to go then it would be poor Kendall getting the chants from “supporters” (no goals in 14) then if Cardwell came back (no goals since mid Oct) no doubt we would move quickly on to him (not the player he was etc…).

We have Collin, top for clean sheets in the NL in 2024 and second in our all time list for clean sheets against games played. For many even that isn’t good enough. But its interesting scoring goals is everything for a striker, yet not letting them in not so for a goalkeeper??

Difference being by first looks, Kendall links well and sets up.. does Mr Bonne?

I agree with your comments on Collin. Can't understand the desire by some to replace him and also can't understand the clamour for Justham. Seems to me that once some of our so called supporters get their claws into someone they don't let go.

Christ, his nerves would be shot to pieces if he ever had to play two attacking minded midfielders.
We did in the 2-0 win over Halifax. Both Coker and Moncur started that game. Problem is, Moncur isn't the long-term answer. We don't have a long-term answer yet and is why Husin plays so often. As soon as we get a Wes replacement that can actually play that role effectively, he will continue to do so.

When Miley plays, we can play with two attack-minded number 8's. Miley is now back to form and match sharp. That midfield will get better.
