I can’t find any info confirming Dallas has signed for Chesterfield.
I thought it was a nailed on signing by their ITK’s.
Just maybe he could be heading our way, as the takeover maybe sooner rather than later. Just my take on it.

But have you heard of any lynchings in Chesterfield

I’d like us to bring in a physical defender who can play in the middle of the back three. Not necessarily as first choice, but for those matches where more of a physical presence is required - like against Boreham Wood for example.

As highly as I rate Kensdale, I think there’s still the potential there for him to get a little bullied against a certain type of striker, and it never seemed to be a problem when Łopata was in there.
Agree. Omar Sowunmi of Bromley (Out of contract - been offered a new deal) would of been high on my list.

What a unit he is. May well also know Kensdale, from their time at Col Ewe.

on another thread it was mentioned Britt Assonbalonga is out of contract next month, now that would be a statement signing IF we could afford him, I reckon he might like it to, to come back here ,he certainly enjoyed his time here on loan. think it was OBL that mentioned him .
30 now - could be another injury risk a la Hyde, Murphy etc.

What type of defender is he @Colchester and proud! ?

I do think we could do with a bit of experience back there, a leader. Is he a leader? Is he good with his feet, or is he more of a head it and kick it away type defender?

Kensdale has come on leaps and bounds, but I’m not sure of him as the middle of a three back there. Technically, good on the ball, and a decent enough defender, but with Hobbo leaving, could he be switched the the RCB role, with a leader in the middle? Obviously we have Lomas who can play in that RCB role too.

Tom is a very decent/honest player who will give you a 7/8 out of 10 performance time after time, think of John White in terms of reliability and you won't be far off the mark. He rarely gets booked or injured but lacks pace, he is a great man marker but is not vocal so he would need a vocally dominant player alongside him ideally. He has great experience having played 466 games for us, he would do a great job for you he is easily good enough to still be playing in league two and at 31 years of age he will be around for a few more years as yet! He was unlucky to be released but we have brought in 2-3 younger/quicker players who have settled in really well so his chances with us would have been very limited. He is a leader of sorts but leads by example rather than a vocal type as I said, but he is big and strong in the air just the guy to sort out big lump centre forwards! Of course Kensdale will know him very well which would help with getting to know each others style of play etc.

Thank you.

Think he ticks a few boxes I’d be looking at, but alongside a leader, we need an organiser. I’m a fan of Kensdale & Lomas, but don’t see either of those as an organiser. The type to pull people in, step them out and so on. They need to concentrate too much on their own game.

Lopata is gone and won’t be coming back obviously, but his own job was too easy that he was able to help the other two back there. Anton Ferdinand did this brilliantly alongside Thompson before his legs went, as did Turner.

Sounds like he’d be a decent enough signing for someone, but probably not what we need.

Omar is a big lad (6feet 6) but not as physical as Tom Eastman, he likes to avoid injury because he is also a male model:Smile: He gets a lot of modelling work from big companies, he probably makes more money doing that than playing football!

Funnily enough another guy we released Luke Chambers is exactly that kind of player, he is now 37 but is very vocal and a real leader, he is not injury prone either, he played more games for us last season than any other player, 48! He is not fast but very vocal a complete organiser and plays with his heart on his sleeve, the younger less experieced players here said he was a great help to them both during games and in training.
