How short the memory of a fickle football fan. Get some bloody perspective people. Let’s have a rewind just a few short months. Our very existence was at risk. The take over isn’t even fully complete yet. Stop the moaning and worrying. Manage your unrealistic expectations and get down the hall today and cheer on this band of brothers that we are so fortunate to have play for and represent our club.
We are entering happier times. Recognise it and be thankful.
None of us have any reason whatsoever to have nothing but complete faith the 3 amigos and JS et al to deliver. Patience, gratitude and unwavering support is what needs to continue from our fan base. This is just the start of the journey.

I mean you're completely right of course, but I do think - especially given that extended hellish period - its not unreasonble for people to be excited about potential signings, and consequently disappointed when they take a while to materialise. For people to be blaming or questioning anyone (Kev or others) is just mad though.

What people fail to recognise or have forgotten is that the people who deal with the mechanics of transfers are the chairman (normally) and the CEO. The coaching staff tell the execs who they want and then leave it to them. It’s pointless blaming Kev for the current situation.

Certainly can't image that even if signed Crowther will come straight in. Who would you drop from the back three? Maybe he jumps above Brook in pecking order and will become a first choice but can't image any benefit from an element of surprise. With a new striker I can see the benefit as likely to have an impact on tactics etc.

New signings are usually benched in their first game aren't they, and lets face it we have plenty of room there! I'm afraid my betting money is on no signing announcements today though ☹️ Not based on any insights, just a bit gloomy about the chances thats all...

Not so much a whoosh moment as a facepalm moment I think?
Good point, well made.

So, for those who are wondering what the **** we are on about, years ago there was a children's programme called Crackerjack. It was aired on Friday at five to five, hence the reference above. The programme always began -

"It's Friday, it's five to five, and it's... CRACKERJACK!"

Hosted by Leslie Crowther, who went on to host "The Price is Right" where the catchphrase was "Come on down!".

It's for the old uns really, no wonder it made some people's eyes Glaze over. (Sorry. If you know, you know.)
