So, for those who are wondering what the **** we are on about, years ago there was a children's programme called Crackerjack. It was aired on Friday at five to five, hence the reference above. The programme always began -

"It's Friday, it's five to five, and it's... CRACKERJACK!"

Hosted by Leslie Crowther, who went on to host "The Price is Right" where the catchphrase was "Come on down!".

It's for the old uns really, no wonder it made some people's eyes Glaze over. (Sorry. If you know, you know.)
I went to one of the live shows at the BBC theater Shepherds Bush, which now seem to be several centuries ago now.

I wonder what an unused Crackerjack pencil is worth these days. Can you believe that once...many years ago...a set of branded pencils was seen as a desirable prize?
