I don’t see why not, it’s quite fashionable in football today for central midfielders to drift out in to wide areas that are left vacated by an inverted winger or for teams that play narrow systems such as ourselves. Giving him less defensive duties could be a benefit as well to his own game.

Powell looked good in the warm ups skill flick ups etc stick him in a game with a 6ft 2 centre it was like a man taking a ball off a 10 year old!! His speed was deceptive because he was small.. maybe quick over 10 yards but that was it! Was always getting released.. good luck to him tho… we have better lined up

totally agree. He would be one player i wouldnt be gutted to lose. Cant knock his enthusiasm and work rate but we need more from players and he just misses too many chances

I really like Powell and a bit gutted to see him going, but has been out the majority of the season, so probably makes sense to move him on and wish him well. Sure he will get a good reception when he comes back

Also sad to see Powell go, but it’s heart ruling head. I just loved his attitude and work rate. Wishing him good luck at Barnet, and he’ll get a warm round of applause from me when he comes back.

Just been told that recently relegated Sutton and (of course) Barnet have now made offers for Luke Jenkins too.

Makes you wonder how the WUP and the uncertainty with the sale of the club will impact our summer recruitment and pre-season...
