Numbers mate, we need numbers. We paid the price this season for not having quality in depth. I’d be happy to see Harry Taylor alongside Mav in midfield more next season as well.

Once again...the consortium will not be spending anything until they own the club. Other clubs know this and will be snapping up players we are very interested in. While we aren't under a transfer embargo officially....we may as well be.
I would love to be wrong btw...however my sauces have spoken.
 
Looks as if Luke Jenkins is joining Aldershot. He used to play for Wimbledon and Hampton and Richmond so probably lives to the West of London. Maybe why he is joining Shots and not us.

I'd suggest (If we were in for him) he is joining Aldershot, as we are not in a position to be signing contracts for any new players right now.

This sorry sale situation has now regrettably, started to impact on our prep for next season. Other teams are once again getting a head start on us.

We all know where to direct our anger.

He certainly isn’t joining that shower of **** for footballing reasons. Very disappointed to miss out on such a talented player all thanks to once again that cretinous ****er.
 
We already have the best defence in the league so not too worried about losing out. In Taylor, Kensdale and Ralph we have 3 of the best centre backs outside the EFL, and two fantastic wing backs. Add Crowther and Demetriou we are okay at the back, probably need another body for cover. Its the attacking areas we are most lacking.
 
As good a player as Jenkins is, I’m not sure we need him right now (unless someone else leaves). We have Taylor and Crowther already for the RCB spot; and Kensdale in the middle, with Crowther also acting as cover there.

We probably lack a bit of depth in the LCB role, but I’d rather us sign a recognised left-sided defender who can cover Ralph, instead.
 
can someone in the know please explain as we face a winding up order in 5/6 weeks and members of southend council saying it`s a race against to get things completed , can we seriously be signing new players and handing out contracts with the takeover still not 100% certain

I don’t think you need anyone in the know to explain to you we won’t be announcing any signings at this moment in time. No, we aren’t under a transfer embargo, but I can’t see anything being announced with a WUP in place, as I’ve said previously.

Yes- 5 there and only Ralph is left footed- he is also the obvious back up to Bridge at LWB plus of course he can get injured. I will be very surprised if we don't add a left footed LCB. If we are going to add 2 then another right footer might be fine...

BTW having a left footed CB on the left in a 3 man CB formation is much more important than in a 2- reason is that they are also covering the left back position, and also when going forward we already have a right footed WB so really need to counter that with a left footer.
