So we only have 16 perms (not long term injured) and 2 loans? That’s not a lot if 1 or 2 are also carrying knocks. Could even end up with a short bench again.
my thoughts exactly - if Coker isn't fully fit we will have 5 subs yes, but all it takes is another injury tomorrow then we'll be down to 4 subs

Perhaps a view has been taken that the play offs are gone, so there's no point paying players who are unlikely to feature much this year. In the meantime we look to strengthen if the right player becomes available.

Not only that, the Consortium still do not own SUFC and won't do officially for some weeks yet!

May e true but I would have liked to see the likes of Wilkinson come in now, get some experience at this level, and be ready for next season. Our squad is still small and our recent activity is the release of two players.

I'm all for the whole finding cheap young talent at lower levels thing, as I often said when we were signing old injured has-beens on crazy money. However having just signed three more players in that catagory (the first one), I'm not sure we shouldn't be mixing in a bit of experience from at least our current level, or if we are seriously ambitious do what Wrexham or Chesterfield did and go after one or two currently playing in L2. Yes it means paying them enough money to persuade them to drop down but there must be plenty of decent L2 standard player not earning much more than most of our squad are on. We're still a bigger club and more attractive prospect now we've (almost) been taken over than a good few of the current L2 clubs. So for that reason I'm not too bothered we've pulled out of this one.
