Not really understanding the ‘underwhelmed’ by the Sandat loan.

For me that’s a cracking loan, the lad really kicked on and showed he was a hell of a talent. Was picked up by a Championship club and will have been with quality coaches and players learning and no doubt improving.

What would you prefer he goes to Bromley or Borehamwood and bangs them in against us? We could get a young striker on loan from another Championship club and they be a Kargbo! We know Sandat, he knows us and he’s one of our own! Whats not to like about this?
I like how Kargbo has become the benchmark for "**** loan signing" 😆.

Id personally pick sterling.🤔

We struggled to get someone in last week, when we had space, so this is far better than nothing, so I'm certainly not underwhelmed we have someone coming in.

Who were you expecting us to sign?
No idea, not my job, i hadnt heard of any of our current squad before we signed them, had you? I hadnt heard of dervitte, harding or collymore before they arrived on loan 🤷‍♂️

I guess i like the hope that new loan signings bring, they might be the next stan or freddy etc 😁.

I actually rated Blair, felt he was unfairly treated by some, because of his goalscoring record, but his hold up play was excellent and if he did score more, he wouldn't have been playing at our level!
Blair, like many others Sturrock brought in that season, had a good attitude and was an excellent 'stop the rot' player. Which at the time was exactly what we needed.

1 month emergency loan isn't really going to get the juices flowing. But I guess its better than nothing.

This is a really interesting way of looking at signings and why I suppose i don’t criticise the signing of Callum Powell, who I find a hugely frustrating footballer but whose energy and commitment has helped turn things around.

Blair’s whole game was about doing the unglamorous stuff that often goes under the radar. Challenging for headers that you aren’t going to win but that stop your opponent having a free header. Closing down defenders to make them rush clearances. Making runs that drag opponents away from teammates. The sort of thing that we’d stopped doing the previous season once Barnard had been sold and players stopped being paid and were each man for them self.

That clip of Preston(?) passing around us was doing the rounds on social media again and how Bond’s side could have done with someone like Blair. To Maher’s immense credit you couldn’t imagine that happening to our current side. Teams might occasionally pass through us but we make them work for it.

I’m far more forgiving of a player like Powell who is limited but gives his all, than a player who has ability but wastes it, like Ranger.
